I wonder how they will do the point distribution, especially for Liger & Ospreay. Liger had 175 points on average across all Fire Pro games and 170 in FPR. Liger is presented as 'the legend' of the DLC but if they do a current version of him (which I prefer, TBH), they should give him around 120-130 points (Tenzan & Nagata got 128 & 124 points in NJPW DLC). While I feel like Liger is going to be over-valued, my guess that Ospreay is going to be under-valued. He's much beefier now and is basically a heavyweight (both looks & performance wise). Giving him a 'top junior' grade of ~125-130 might be somewhat unfair IMO. Oh and I am happy to admit I was completely wrong. 161 points for Ospreay (Panther fight style!) and 101 points for Liger. That's pretty cool, well done Spike. They grossly overpointed Ospreay (especially compared to KUSHIDA and Hiromu...) and I guess if Liger had to get nerfed I'm fine with him still being over 100 points but uh yeah...not feeling 160 for Ospreay at all. |

Depends on who the boss of Junior storyline is. If Ospreay is that strong it's probably him.

Alright, so, here are my thoughts on the Junior DLC. I kinda feel like Spike half-assed some of it. Most of what I'm about to bitch about is easily fixed by the player so I'm not too butt hurt, but some interesting choices none the less.
The very first thing I did was open up all of the new wrestlers in edit. The first was Lyger. Two appearances only? Modern and a commentator mask variant? Weird. Where's classic Liger? Black and white/gold Liger? Those don't require new parts, just change the color of the gorgeous new parts you worked hard on. Then no Ikari No Jyushin? WTF? One of the most iconic themes in wrestling history? Oof. Moves look accurate - except no CTB? The one move missing from Lyger's moveset and you don't include it?
When I got to Jado's second costume I kinda stopped dead in my tracks and said "Holyshit, people are gonna bitch about this." Why? They used pre-existing edit parts in combination instead of making new edit parts. I'm not even sure what's going on with Jado's head on his second costume. I think he's supposed to have a bandanna covering his face?
It feels hurried, and that sucks. I can only imagine the higher ups at Spike being annoyed with Matsumoto and how less than ideal with game has progressed.
Edit: I'm super excited to have what was included and I'm very thankful they included some other moves for guys not part of the DLC.

It seems obvious that the other foot finally dropped. He literally got nothing done the entire year. He did nothing that he said he wanted to do with the Promoter mode, and instead just got new art at the last minute. Now we have this DLC that is bare bones, and we get "oh, we are going to finish off the rest of the roster later". I noticed that about Lyger too. I can copy paste his attire 3 times and change the color in like 15 seconds. Nothing has really gone well since it left early access. I don't care about the SC shakeup, or anything else that did or didn't happen. It doesn't change the situation. I do appreciate the free move packs. |

Personally, I don't mind the updated Battle Lyger mask and secondary attire. It's a welcome addition. I do, however, agree with most of the other complaints, and was almost positive that we would get a proper Crash Thunder Buster to complete him. I think he's supposed to have a bandanna covering his face? This was a bit less surprising as Spike did the same thing with many of the alternate attires included on the original NJPW DLC. That said, "Master Heater" JADO is also a relatively new thing compared to everything else featured here, so at least it's somewhat understandable. |

Just to clarify. The Lightning Spiral is what BUSHI calls that move, so it's for him. Also, did they finally add corner elbow butts? Thank God. EDIT - maikeru beat me to it for the Lightning Spiral. I know they're not very relevant anymore, but I'm still shocked that Liger and Tiger Mask didn't come with any new moves since they're such big names. Tiger Mask could've used his double armbar, Destroy Suplex, and moonsault knee drop.
