I don't think it's fair to push all the blame onto the executives at S/C either. There's plenty of blame to go around, the only thing that is certain is that Spike have handled this entire thing poorly since the December release last year. It's been one garbage decision after another since the PS4 got involved.

Balls. It just Ufcked up all the people who backed it and made it happen and I don't include myself in that. Is wishing for a fire pro based promoter style option that much to ask, where we have the freedom to put anyone and everyone we are interested in to the mix, and manage their successes? I think not after all these years. Spreadsheets etc Pff I'm ranting I shouldn't. It's only a game and no game is perfect.
I just wish that they would put out a perfect one to finish off the legacy. I do think at this point it's a legacy. Couple of decades + they been shifting the similar stuff, you wanna tell me they don't get where the interest is?!
Sorry few beers made me speak too much.

They sold less than 4000 copies in their second week on sale in Japan...
+/- 20000: Week 1 +/- 4000: Week 2
I think they shouldn't have released on PS4, period.

That's what happens when you hype up a game, but then release it in a buggy state to the masses. And at a high price point, too. At least the Fire Pro fans who were waiting on the console version got a copy; just hope this means the team will come back to PC sooner so we can get all the planned DLC and move on.

This has probably already been said, but I waited forEVAH for Fire Pro World. I can wait a couple of months/weeks for some damn DLC. Saying this as a PC player, sucks for the PS4 folk.

I'm more frustrated with the fact that they put all their resources into the PS4 version, still managed to screw it up fairly bad and now the PC players are feeling the effect. If it was a short delay to work out some last minute kinks I'd be fine with it but as Carl said, it's been one bad decision after another...

You know this 'civil war' problem with people going mods or no mods? I'm literally torn in the middle of it. I love the mods. All my people of my main roster have named Signatures, a lot have extra moves and items on them (and the fact that I actually made some means something, you know?) BUT I also really want to buy the DLC and actually use it. I mean I'd buy it either way because as been said, down the line, sometime, years from now maybe even, all these mods will still be alive while the game isn't supported any more (though I'm sure the Workshop would still be since they never seem to close those on Steam) but now I have to go 'what matters to me more?' And right now? Don't have an answer. That sucks. :/ You can join the third team, those members who will run a modded copy and an updated copy to fuck around with until the mods can be updated. Also known as Wakanda. Is that uhh.. possible on a lone PC?

Worth remembering that we still have the US/EU PS4 launch coming up that should do as well or better than the JPN release. And at a much higher entry point than the PC version. So the PS4 release isn't a runaway success but still better for Spike's bottom line than the PC version that sold most of its copies at $13-20 each.
edit: But it was really dumb to push forward with the original PS4 date when they knew in late December that the code was fucked and they had to hire a new team. They should have gotten the PC version up to snuff and ported that instead of porting the day 1 EA release to PS4 and trying to unify the code after the fact.

I think it can't be stated enough that their audience isn't primarily in Japan anymore, nor is it probably on the PS4. The Switch is the hot console right now. It's the blend of a "full console" and portable experience that Japanese audiences have latched onto for years with the Game Boy and DS lines. Seven of the top ten best sellers the last week in Japan were Switch games. Two were 3DS titles and one on PS4. While perhaps it was hard to predict almost a year out that it would go like this and yeah, the PS4 player base is bigger, but how many people have just moved on to the Switch? I know they didn't have a ton of money, but some market research would've helped. Then again, the team was clearly not prepared for any of this. At all. I also understand that they were approached early at being "helped" by an outside group with the PS4 version. I dunno. I also suspect that a good number of sales on the PS4 will be from us, their core, mostly Western audience, who already owns at least one copy. The glitches and rocky launch probably didn't help, either.

Most console games in Japan don't have any legs whatsoever. Everyone who cares buys it the first week, then there's a massive drop-off second week, and that's that. Business as usual. Now if it starts getting price-drops as low as say, New Gundam Breaker, then the sky can be falling, sure.
