If Spike views the modding community as a negative instead of a positive, they could try to lock everything down. Which could effect everybody. At this point, they can't even get their own code out in a timely, bug-free manner...I don't think we have much to worry about.
This is insanely shortsighted.

I'd definitely opt for the mods over the official content due to the open-ended nature of mods. It will really be an easy decision for me.
What I may do is eventually buy the PS4 version when it goes drastically down in price, and use the DLC there.

it was a joke at their expense, calm down.
I'll do what I need to do to keep modding a float. To be honest, the only reason I give a shot about FPW at this point is because of modding. It's not good enough as a game on it's own to hold my interest. It had potential, and that potential has been wasted, so my main concern is making sure modding can continue.

Never said it wouldnt be, but putting a potential line in the sand that the community AND Spike has to deal with before they even get to the desert is not the way to handle this.
For as much as we've done to promote community growth, this could literally turn it inward and create a shrink.
It's rapidly becoming 'Us vs Them' mentality, in a mere 12 hours over the attempt at not delivering a broken product.

Sorry when you're talking about releasing something damn the consequences and freem is tweeting about leaving the Fire Pro community, that gets me pretty worried about the game's future (even if I haven't modded my game yet) I appreciate all the work you've done but I hope you don't do anything rash. Take care of your personal stuff. We can wait.

I second Charlie when he says we can wait. Really we can wait, your life comes first, most of us will still be here when your sort that out.
Like i said. what makes this a complete nightmare is the lack of communication from Spike and the dev team. I just hope they realize how we're feeling about this ordeal.

I'm also totally cool with waiting.
The only things I was currently using in Mod Suite were More Match Options mainly for the health bars and the Young Lion mod because I like random shit.

Jesus, the civil war began rather quickly. The pro-mod guys are clearly Captain America. You Sokovia Accords fools can sit under Spike's thumb and like it. (This is a joke post).

I’m going to change the subject to try and get away from the arguments that have been going on before this gets locked down...
Got a question with the new dlc that are coming out does anyone know if they will update their attires ? Because a see some are outdated already so just wondering if they will be keeping them up to date or could we do it and it not affect them ?

[br I mean, this is obviously funny, but Carl, yourself and others have done a great job in taking a shell of a game and adding features that we've all been clamoring to be included for years now and implemented them. I don't fault Spike or the director, we all know what they've been facing and it's a bad situation for them. But at the same time, most of us have been supporting this series for most of our lives. I've bought multiple copies of World already for friends and whatever. The PC version got put on the back burner because of the license and the DLC. Fine. Matsumoto said he wouldn't abandon the PC version after it was taken out of EA and we've had... A few small updates since then. Once again, cool. But the UI is still a broken mess, there's still bugs that haven't been accounted for and PC development has clearly been halted for the PS4 version. Some are saying "hey, it's just a few weeks of a delay, we can wait." I don't disagree in theory. The problem is that the PC version has been more or less left in the dust in lieu of the PS4 port. At this point, moving forward, it's clear what they're priority is. It's a bummer because many of us interacted with Spike throughout EA, gave feedback and went in knowing it wouldn't be a complete game and would need work. So we beta tested and, like most early access experiences, the final product wasn't as good as promised. In the meantime, community creators have made massive improvements to the game. I can't state this enough. Massive. Carl and co have done their best to not undermine Spike and their plans, even halting producing modded moves because the team asked them to stop for a while. But when Carl, understandably, went to them to see if he could work at getting the mod suite ready for the launch, they declined. Now this delay means he can't update it in a timely fashion and, for those of us that use the mods, the options are to literally lose features and functionality with every decision, but pick which things we have to miss out on. The way I see it, Carl and co have been making this game what it should have been all along, sometimes the additions are simple, sometimes massive. It doesn't have to be this great community divider, but just give everyone a break. This is a big deal.

It took long enough just to get the attire changes in the game to begin with. Outside of a simple color swap, I don't see any extra logos/parts added for the vanilla version of the game.

Yeah, especially when the game is based off of 2017 New Japan, I don't see them adjusting that unless they do a second "scenario" that happens in 2018, and then it'll be outdated again. I kinda wish this was viewed like some sports games, where they get updated constantly with roster updates, stat updates, etc., but these games are nowhere near as popular. Never mind the fact that most of the official Spike edits don't seem all-that-great. I dunno, I think Otaku or I could probably churn out better NJPW edits at this point and probably will in the future, although a good bulk of people will obviously just be using the defaults.

They could go the route of "historical periods in wrestling" and just make scenarios based on that. Using this method, they wouldn't need to worry about being outdated after a few months/events have passed and utilize some more of the NJPW history that the deal has (hopefully) made available to them. Obviously, they start with 2017 since it's modern NJPW and go back from there; the question whether there's any interest in that sort of approach.
