Lightning Pro - Homecoming Tour Finale 11-1-19
8:00 PM (CT) on Friday, November 1st, at the Kyoto Central Gymnasium in Kyoto, Japan
Bonus Match
Naoka Takemura vs. Cutie Booties(ZIP Japan)
Quickly becoming one of L-Pro's most recognizable talents, Naoka Takemura threw a GPC/Sam Hall-esque fit at not being booked. Lightning Pro management put her on in a bonus match as such, against ZIP Japan's big headed German-Anime-ese kickboxer. Takemura's sadistic style kept her in the game with constant submission work and rough followups, but Cutie's ZIP heritage saw her through, a big triple spin kick combination sealing the deal.
Main Event: Victorious Tag Medal Bout
The Apocayptic Warriors(Masa Tokugawa and Ai Tanaka)(C) vs. The Destructive Duo(Crusher Honda and Wrecker Yamamoto)
The Warriors put on a fine effort in their attempt to defend their belts, but it seemed as if there was a slight disconnect in their ring awareness, multiple Apocalyptic Knees landing in the wrong corner and eventually, Crusher Honda gained a modicum of revenge on Masa Tokugawa by planting him with a Pole Shift Flowsion for the win.
X-Kira(PEWA) vs. The Outlaw, Sam Hall
Sam Hall wanted to be booked, but it's doubtful he wanted his particular match. X-KIRA made his first L-Pro showing ever in his return to Japan from the PEWA, and utterly obliterated Hall, slamming him with light tubes(hello, Tomas) and blasted him with urakens and other hard strikes before a Final Powerbomb finished the match.
UCSS Rules
Ayako Miyamoto with Mr. Nobunaga vs. Sanem Becker(UCSS) with Rory Banner(UCSS)
Inexplicably reordered on the card, and with Mr. Nobunaga showing up in Miyamoto's corner to counter the founder of the Big Banter Brand, Rory Banner showing up in his charge's corner, this match had much to live up to on an already action-packed card. It more than exceeded those expectations, with Miyamoto and Becker waging an intense, yet intricately technical grappling battle, the Turkish-German newcomer showing a slight advantage early on. As Miyamoto started fighting back into the match, Banner started interfering, which seemed to set her off, leading to multiple German suplexes out of the ring. Becker held on through the onslaught and landed an exploder suplex with Miyamoto just barely missing the ten count to recover. Outstanding showing by both sides.
Keiko Maeda(Phoenix Rising), Rei Hasegawa, Saburo Aoki Jr. and Yuki Okamura vs. The Blue Notes(Miss Bauhaus, Astro Traveler, Josie J. Jett(Wacker Drive Revival) and Eiji "Jay" Sato)
Team Hasegawa held their own in this one, with Keiko Maeda especially standing out for the team, but the experience and skill level of the Blue Notes was on another level, an it showed, with the Astro Traveler landing his Astro Fly flipping arm slam on Aoki Jr. to net the victory.
Michael Ito(Independent) vs. Kosuke "Choppu" Arai
These two veterans slugged it out in one of the best matches of the card, with Ito's crushing lariats and jackhammers matching well against Arai's thunderous chops. In the end, it was Arai who came out ahead, landing a forceful power chop to take a hard earned win, but Ito certainly made an impressive showing.
Preliminary Main Event: Victorious Medal Bout
The Black Dragon(C)(Phoenix Rising) vs. G.P. Christopher
GPC took on the highest profile challenge in his career in this match against the fearsome Victorious Medal holder. He not only held his own, but fought like a man utterly possessed, missing no opportunities to continue his relentless attack, managing to counter his way out of the Dragon's most dangerous attacks, and stunningly, finished the match by stoppage following a Destiny Driver that left the most decorated wrestler in the Critical Alliance sprawled out at the end in a shocking, incredible conclusion.
Match of the Night: Ayako Miyamoto vs Sanem Becker
-The UCSS Rules bout was the best match out of a solid show, both women coming away looking stronger after a very competitive, heated contest.
Performer of the Night: George Paul Christopher
-Arguably the biggest upset ever to take place in an Office ring, with the title changing hands, GPC earned this one, with ease.
Injury Report
(While the Office does not release specific injury reports on non-contracted talent, word has it that the Black Dragon will be missing shows in at least the following week, thanks to her injury at the hands of GPC's Destiny Driver.)
---
Following his win, G.P. Christopher was tracked down by Dean Bardo for a backstage interview.
Dean Bardo: So, how does it feel? Was that everything you wanted?
GP Christopher: Everything and more! Nobody thought I could get a title match in the Preliminary Main Event! Nobody thought I could even survive a match with the Black Dragon! Hell, nobody thought I'd ever make it as a pro wrestler back in the PEWA, and nobody certainly thought this poor scrawny kid from the Philly hood would be a star in Nihon!
Bardo: You had a gameplan against the Dragon, and carried it out flawlessly, explain your approach, if you will.
GPC: Man, I just figured Dragon eats people alive if they take a breath. I thought, either I keep taking my best shot until she drops or I drop, and you saw what happened!
Bardo: The condition of the Black Dragon is unknown at this time, do you have any words for her?
GPC: Yeah, we all do this thing here looking to win the match. I'm not one of those people who enjoys hurting opponents, injuring them, that's not me. If it happens, it's part of the game, but it's not something I try to do. So yeah, Dragon, hope you're good back there, and when you're ready, meet me again in the Preliminary Main Event, here in Kyoto, or back there in the Northwest, and we'll roll this again. I'll be a fighting champion with this Victorious Medal. But if I'm gonna defend this thing, I want a definitive victory next time, no stoppages, a three count or a tapout. That way, nobody questions that I'm worthy of this Medal. And after that, ALEXANDER, you get yourself ready! Tarkhan, Honda, anyone wants to follow him, the King of the Openers is ready for you all!
A gaggle of women peek through the door, pushing around each other to get a look at the new champion.
GPC: Sorry, Dean, but the GP Club is here and ready to make Kyoto the New Party Capital of the world. Duty calls...
---
Directly after Sanem Becker's win, Becker and her manager, "Big Banter" Rory Banner are seen backstage at the press table.
Rory Banner: I made my promise that the Big Banter Brand was in the process of changing the landscape, and as you all witnessed tonight, my words once again were verified. Andronicus Turner will continue to recover, and will assuredly dominate when he does, but for now, all eyes will focus on Sanem Becker. Tonight, she proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that she is everything I promised, and now I make a simple demand. Miss Becker, Thiago Gracie, UCSS Openweight Title. You heard my words, Nicholas Alger. I expect you to properly respond in due measure.
---
Crusher Honda and Wrecker Yamamoto did not leave the ring after their Victorious Tag Medal victory. Instead, Honda called for the microphone.
Crusher Honda: (Translated from Japanese) <How does that feel now, Masa Tokugawa? Did you think I would forget the time you knocked me out with that knee? Did you think you could do that again? You thought wrong! I have always hated you! And next time we meet, maybe the "end times" will be for your career! But for now, I took your little medals! I put you down! And now you can watch while we break everything in this place!>
Wrecker Yamamoto: <Little Ai Tanaka thinks she can be a champion, does she? How cute! How pathetic!>
Honda: <We are the Victorious Champions! Nobody will stop us now!>
At this moment, two sizable individuals appear on the entrance ramp. Although obscured by the bright spotlight behind them, the thirty seconds of flexing gives them away.
Adonis Avery Alexander: Hey, I don't understand a word you two are saying, but what I came out here to say is that the Muscle Machines are sick and tired of sitting around here, waiting for our shot! And we're certainly not going to let two overweight, chunky women hold onto our titles for long.
Gary Gear: Uh, really? Yeah, he said that, not me! But what I will say is that we want a shot at your Medals on the next tour! We'll do whatever we have to do to get them!
AAA: We'll run you two over like a train plowing over a big fat bloated cow on the tracks. We'll take your best shot and smash you through the mat, isn't that right, Gary?
Gary: Yeah, Fear Gary Gear!
Honda: Oh, you talk English in my ring? You talk about trains? Little man, I am the Murder Train, and you are the cow! When we're done, we'll smear your guts all over Kyoto! You wanted it, you'll get it!
Wrecker: <We'll break you into tiny little pieces!>
AAA: Yeah, whatever you said, whatever.
