Meanwhile, the Washington football team will officially be known as the Washington Football Team for the next season. Yeah.

The Kraken is dope and the logos are pretty spiffy. Extra points for working the Space Needle into the secondary anchor logo. Glad to see some more exploration into team names in sports, this time with a mythological flair.
As for the team formerly known as the Redskins, it seems like they will need more time to decide. I just hope they break the patriotic norm used for other sports teams in the DC area. Just kind of becomes boring after a while.

Yeah, I have to give Seattle's NHL franchise credit on their willingness to be different with that team name. The logos are great and the away jersey is great (the logo on the front of the home jersey is ruined by how it blends into the rest of the jersey, imo). As Zealot pointed out, the Space Needle anchor is an awesome touch. I do like how all of Seattle's current major league teams have "sea" themes to them and the Kraken fit right in with that, though their lack of a green hue in their logo distinguishes them from the other Seattle teams.

Extremely sad situation for the MLB. I hope all involved recover quickly.

Unsurprisingly, the Marlins have now paused their season. Makes me wonder how long the overall MLB season will last, or how other sports will be affected since the NBA and NHL are both set to have games themselves over the next few days.
Meanwhile, MLS has already been going and I didn't even realize it. Whoops.

I dont know enough about the NHL bubbles other than theres 2 one for each conference. MLS bubble has been fine since the large numbers at the beginning that sent a team or two home and I dont know if teams are going home if are eliminated from the tournament or if they are going to stay in the bubble when they resume the season.

I started watching the latest UFC Fight Night on ESPN+, I don't have the same interest in MMA I had after PRIDE closed, but I am impressed how Dana created a bubble and the UFC have been going.
As for the Redskins, I saw an interesting video from a First Nations/Native American in which he said that it was a shame as there are many Native American who take pride and see it as representation and he said in the early days, there were Native Americans playing for the Reskins.

I've seen a few more jokes about how the MLB cardboard crowds look like they came out of a 2000s sports game.
Following that train of thought, the NHL's empty arena approach is like turning the crowd off altogether for a framerate boost.

In this abbreviated Major League Baseball season that's been rife will postponements due to new cases of Covid-19 effecting various teams, I'm going to take some solace in the fact that my Royals, who struggled a lot the first couple of weeks, are now riding a 3-game winning, beating the NL-best Chicago Cubs on Thursday and beating the AL-best Minnesota Twins each of the last two days. I'd like to pretend that the 3 game streak would be an 8 game streak if you factored in the "weight" of them compared to the regular season but then I'd have to acknowledge that the 6-10 Royals would be 16-27 and that's not quite as fun to consider.
It's not particularly unusual to see the MLB, NHL, and NBA running simultaneously (baseball season starts as the other two are moving into the playoffs) but given how unusual things have been this year, I don't think the fact that it's happening 4 months later is particularly unwelcome. I personally dislike the societal message that it sends but I won't dare pretend that I'm not watching, cardboard fans and all.
That said, I'll be curious to see if the 60 game MLB season plays out in its entirety (already 1/4 of the way through....for teams not effected by the aforementioned postponements). Most teams haven't reported any new cases since the season began so there's an idea that it can run to completion if players, coaches, and training staff (the latter being the source of both team-wide outbreaks since play began) can adhere to the prescribed guidelines. I suppose at this point, it's a game of "wait and see" in regard to whether another team has an outbreak.
Gridiron football, both professional and collegiate, has a LOT to live up to in regards to "player health" if they continue on with their seasons as planned. That is, aside from the MAC and Big Sky Conferences who have both cancelled all fall sports as a precaution. I would not be bothered in the slightest if the SEC (home of my Missouri Tigers) and NFL cancelled their seasons in the name of, you know, HEALTH but it's not going to happen and I just hope that people who choose to play take all of the necessary precautions to prevent contracting and spreading that specific virus.
