I may be something of a workaholic but is it too much to ask for my coworkers to pull their weight too? I mean, I know I have the kind of personality where I try to do as much as I can myself but it's still annoying to keep ending up in jobs where I'm literally doing the work of two people.

I been there. There is a stark difference between 'I'll help you do this task with you' and 'I'll flat out do this task for you'. A co-worker asking someone for help at work does not mean completely shoveling the work to them. At the very least have the courtesy to ask for that bluntly and exactly, don't piss on my leg and tell me it's raining.

Had that occasion with a co-worker just yesterday. He goes, "Hey, would you mind [doing this thing that is explicitly someone else's job]?"
"Yeah, I would."
"Okay, thanks for doing that."
"No, I mean I mind."
He went away, and I didn't do it. I don't mind getting shit done that's gotta get done, but I wasn't having it on that occasion.

I'm in the exact same position now. I always used to be 'Mr. Yes', 'Mr. Favor', 'Mr. Niceguy'. When you're that guy, people just use you, or they think you're trying to be a suck up to management, or as in my case management comes along when you're doing everything and spits on you for it. I used to let people I work with take 40 and 50 minute breaks because I would cover their spot on the machine until they got back, often going well into my break time. Now when my break time comes along, if you aren't back, I shut it down and you can explain to the floor supervisor why you haven't been building for twenty minutes.
You help me out, I'll help you out. You go screw off and disappear when I need help, I go screw off and disappear when you need help. Need me to come in on my days off and help out, go fuck yourself. I did that for you for three years and you shit on me because I was stupid enough to say yes when you asked for help. If I'm on call and you need me, then call, otherwise I see your number on my caller ID I just let it go to voicemail and then delete it without even listening to it. My new floor supervisors I've had since the original one must have already heard about the issues I had and they've never actually even bothered to call me and asked me to come in. I'm sure someone on the crew let them know about my story and that the goodwill train made its last stop. They don't complain because I still show up for every single shift when most other people don't. This year I get the $200 perfect attendance bonus again as well.

How pathetic does one's life have to be to think crank calling a convenience store at 6:30 on a Saturday morning sounds like fun?
It wasn't even a kid either. Dude was clearly old enough to know better. Didn't know well enough to block his number though.

It’s fun working with “passengers” as I like to call them, eh? I busted my ass to get into the line of work that I’m in, and I love what I do, I especially love that I use my education every day at work and there’s always more to learn , I am very accountable for what I do, and part of keeping my accreditation and license involves yearly learning goals to keep up with the evolving industry. I really thought the pine riding 51%’ers would be a thing of my past, but alas, I STILL work with people like that ( don’t get me started on the safety committee... wow.)! Laziness is ubiquitous, as is the desire for people like you to pick up the slack and get the work done thankfully (but sadly)! Funny thing is, if you take your foot off of the gas, I bet your superiors would talk to you and the lazy shitheads would just keep coasting. Sad stuff, but you can look at yourself an know that you’re a valuable asset and a decent human unlike your coworkers.

There's things I do because I'd rather spend an hour doing it myself than having to burn more than that trying to fix it later. At the same time there's a lot that is mostly redundant, or where the quirks of the software is what slows us down.
In other news, while two of the three went well the third was just a brick wall. Funnily enough she seems to have gotten worse after some weirdness with another person on my shit list.

Sad stuff, but you can look at yourself an know that you’re a valuable asset and a decent human unlike your coworkers. I hear you on that front, my last full day at my current job was on December 13th, and they were doing their Christmas stuff and there was a company "how we are doing" type meeting. I was finishing so I didn't really care about that meeting, but it was mandatory. Anyway, my last full day and I'm the type who will work hard regardless, I can be in the worst mood, but I'll still give my best. At this point I am majorly disgruntled with the company, which is why I chose to leave without anything lined up. Still on this day I carried on working hard when one of my colleagues informs me that he hasn't done all of his work because of the day's distractions. It was basically his morning work, which was uninterrupted. I really didn't know how to respond to that.
I would love to work for a place where everyone actually does their job.

OK, so federal law recently changed and every state now requires tobacco and vape customers to be 21. Which means I have to treat it as strictly as I do alcohol sales.
This has just caused me to have a customer (mid-30s) fly off the handle at me for carding her even though she's "in here all the time." Ma'am, my asking for ID just means you don't look 40. Also, I can't remember everyone that comes here.
In short, I just angered a customer by doing my job. Again. Oh well.
I knew this law was gonna make people mad but I didn't expect my first angry customer to be about my own age.

I never understand just how angry customers can get just by asking them a simple question. I really hated working in retail, because most of them just treated you like dirt.

Can anyone tell me why you need to take out a loan/re mortgage your house in order to buy replacement disposable razor blades (why are they so godamned expensive?! Were they forged by Muramasa himself?)?!

Even though I've had a beard for a good 2-3 years now, I've used their products many times. I can assure you that the blades are just as quality as any of the name brands at retail stores locked in a cage.
