In short, I just angered a customer by doing my job and basically complimenting them. Fix't 😁 Can anyone tell me why you need to take out a loan/re mortgage your house in order to buy replacement disposable razor blades (why are they so godamned expensive?! Were they forged by Muramasa himself?)?! LOL'd at Muramasa reference 😂 I dunno though, I think I'd rather have Masamune's razors. Less room for error! 🪒 |

What's funny is, I usually hear some variation of "I'm probably older than you" when I card people like that. It's almost never by as much as they think. At least twice now, they've actually been younger than me. To be fair I routinely get mistaken for being about a decade younger than I actually am. I mean, how is this the face of someone in their mid-30s anyway? |

I got IDed for the first time in ages a while back and I wanted to hug the girl who IDed me! Like El Marsh said, carry your ID like an adult and expect to have your identification checked by an establishment that risks losing its licence to sell liquor/tobacco because it sells to an uncarded minor. People need to get over themselves and make everyone’s lives, including theirs, a bit better.

Q: I'm in here all the time.
A: Then you should know our policies.
Q: I used to work here.
A: Then you really should know our policies.

So yesterday was a microcosm.
Literally sent on the last day of the year. And then it was apparently hot potatoed. So I'm going from person to person, having to interrupt somebody that I know is going to be salty about it and probably say I just wanted to stare at her minion's strategically placed credentials. Finally they walked over griping about how they got called. And even the other one was like are you happy now when I'm like "you're the reason why I had to get four people and two calls to do this shit in the first place!"
Then the #1 of sorts was dropping hints. I hope it goes through because we could use him there but more importantly he's going to be really sour if he doesn't get the nod. So it kind of had a passive-aggressive "I hope you realize why I do XYZ this way and not that" etc. And with that one of the few things that might be stalling my other developments would hopefully fall into place and then we can really get some shit done this year.
Similarly I going to say my peace with that person and if we can't fix it then I'm just not going to bother with her anymore.

Ever look up a recipe expecting to find an ingredients list, expected prep/cooking time, and cooking instructions but instead find a two thousand plus word story about how cool the person who stole the recipe from another book or website is, and how vegan and free range and pro raw food and gluten free and organic and rainbow glitter farting they think they are and see all of the artful, staged pictures they took of the ingredients in various stages of preparation and then just give up on the whole f$&king thing because you feel like you’ve been duped into thinking you’re reading a recipe when all it is is a self indulgent endorsement of how delusional and egotistical humans can be when given the platform.
Ridiculous run on sentence intended. 🙂

Last day of Christmas vacation today. Almost three weeks off. Actually the plant starts the machines back up today, but they're letting volunteers take off the entire Friday, Saturday and Sunday shifts if they want since they're predicting low production on the start up shifts. I'll take off Friday since it'll be a long boring day of starting and stopping and standing around watching the maintenance guys fine tune things. But I have to start building up the bank account again after Christmas so I'll be in Saturday and Sunday.
Also did my first post-Christmas workout yesterday and couldn't even finish. Sitting around and eating pizza, ice cream and KFC all break was not a good idea. I'm finishing off the last of the eggnog in the house right now and then it'll be back to tuna, cereal, skim milk and whey for the next two months.
