Screen Capture slowing game speed down. HELP!

Hello all - recently I've noticed that when I use a screen capture to record matches (like the x box overlay or OBS) the game speed drops to about 80-85% and its driving me nuts because it didn't use to do that.  So I'm not sure if I messed something up, if my computer is dying, or what.  I usually run Carlzilla's mods while playing, I've updated to the latest version, I have the NJPW DLC.  Has anyone experience any similar issues?  Any fixes?  I've tried updating my graphics driver, uninstalling, etc, so far no luck.  I'll attempt any reasonable suggestions.  Thank you in advance, love our community.

I was having some severe slowdown issues that were helped immensely by a full-force, admin-level disk cleanup. I don't know what was wrong, and the cleanup process itself took actual hours, plural, but it seemed to do the trick after I had tried seemingly everything else.

If the above suggestion doesn't work, you could try using StreamLabs OBS instead of the regular OBS because StreamLabs OBS uses considerably less CPU power.

Thanks for the advice guys.  I tried those suggestions to no avail, however, I have found that lowering the resolution on the game has succeeded in restoring appropriate recording speed.  Although, I cannot account for why I was able to record before on the highest, I guess this will do for now.  See you at the matches.

Make sure you don't record at higher than the screen resolution of the game. Don't make a 1080p file for a 720p window. BTW, 720p is fine for FPW so save CPU regardless. Also, make sure you are using your onboard hardware to encode the video if you card supports it. You can set OBS to encode the video with your CPU, or you can use hardware encoders(I think it's called NVEnc on nVidia cards) to do the job and spare your CPU. Turn off steam overlay.
