Max von Sydow at 90. These ones get me because you don’t even realize how much shit this individual has been a part of until they’re gone. This dude has been in everything including Bond (as Blofeld), Ming in Flash Gordon, he was in the original exorcist, game of thrones, (disnyfied) Star Wars, and even did VO in my beloved Skyrim. Kenny Rogers has cashed out for the final time
"The Gambler" has to be among the greatest songs ever of its era and despite the tremendous success of that track, the rest of his stuff was pretty damn good too. A true legend and one of my faves.

Benjamin Kelly, known in the older Fire Pro forums as bennyhanna316, passed away on March 25. He was 40.

That really sucks. Really, really sucks. It's far too early for such a great guy. And I knew him pretty well during the FPC days. We were always joking on the forums and would regularly exchange PM's and he was such a positive part of the community and cared so much for it. I can't believe he passed away so young.
R.I.P. BennyHanna316 - you will be missed and remembered.

That really sucks. I was actually just thinking of him the other day, but I couldn't remember what his username had been. I remember he actually opened up on the board a fair bit, and he seemed like a good dude. And 40 is entirely too damn young.

I don't entirely remember his posts (been away too long) but I do remember that username. I didn't get why benihana was spelled like that until now so it always stood out to me.
Sorry to hear he's gone, and not very old either.

Definitely boo. Nothing quite as epic as hearing him announce "...and NEEEEWWWWW...WORLD Wrestling Federation CHAMPION...." Definitely the gold standard in announcing in many ways. He had more creative input than a lot of people realize, too, including naming a tiny recurring show called Wrestlemania. So sad when someone so integral to the business is just permanently gone. |
