Two championship bouts headline this show, as Jack Stacey defends his SWA Prestige title in a dodecahedon and the Bunch'a Amateurs take on the Shaolin Superstars, with other matches demonstrating the quickly growing depth of the tag division. UCSS: Steel Destination - 4-14-2023 8:00 PM(CT) on Friday, April 14th at the Doors of Perception in Los Angeles, CA Main Event: Showdown in the Cage: SWA Prestige Championship Bout Jack Stacey(SWA)(C) vs. Mackenzie Bergeron UCSS Tag Team Championship Bout Bunch'a Amateurs(Zak Hayes and Cody Sheppard)(Butterfloor)(C) vs. Shaolin Superstars (Chun Zheng (USW-F) and Gang Wong) Walid Alizadeh vs. Zin Win Aye with the Big Banter Brand(Rory Banner, Virgil de Boer and Sanem Becker) Thiago Gracie BJJ(Thiago Gracie and Jamie Tomasi) with Angie Armstrong vs. Red Alert(Leona Sterling(Phoenix Rising) and Aoife Daley) Standard Rules Bout Dirk Van Buren(Realm of Wrestling) vs. Della Dwight with Aline Richelieu and Drake Elliott IV(Wrestle Parade) Lanna Ndi vs. Seong Jung Hwan Agile Warriors(Onika Santos and Anatoly Shkuro) vs. American Apex(Keith Van Horne and Lamont Aldren)(Wrestle Parade) Prestige Rules Bout Eliza Faulkner(MWCC) with Mackenzie Bergeron vs. Soji Kanda(SWA) with Takaya Hinomiya(SWA) Bitter Rivals(Ong Daengsri and Minerva Markovic) vs. Battle Blossoms(Onosa'i Tagaloa and Sakura Ishigami)

Perhaps not the best UCSS card in terms of match quality, but contrary to last week's sprawling, overdrawn L-Pro card, this delivered the usual dose of prompt hybrid style action with lots of injuries incurred, making it a typical outing for Universal Combat Shoot Style. The tag title and Prestige title scenes did each see major turmoil. RESULTS UCSS: Steel Destination - 4-14-2023 8:00 PM(CT) on Friday, April 14th at the Doors of Perception in Los Angeles, CA Bonus Match Della Dwight vs. Andronicus Turner After her two wins over Dirk Van Buren, Della Dwight still wanted compeition. This time, unfortunately, she ended up across the ring from a returning Andronicus Turner, with the Kronk Legacy making his first showing since he lost his UCSS Openweight title to Hakim Fields at Lariats 2022. Turner was in his usual form and as such, only needed three mintues to knock Dwight out. The former champ looked as strong as ever, and unfortunately for Della Dwight, she might need a few more months before she can celebrate her earlier accomplishments. Main Event: Showdown in the Cage: SWA Prestige Championship Bout Jack Stacey(SWA)(C) vs. Mackenzie Bergeron With Bergeron having earned this title shot in a prove-it match last month, looking to prove the strength of pro wrestling against its greatest detractor in the hybrid style scene, the dodecahedron would be the perfect background for the Man of Iron to carry out on his claims. Bergeron dicated the pace, stretching Stacey out across the three five minute rounds and would eventually land a horrifying shin breaker in the third that left Stacey sprawled out on the mat, unable to continue. Afterwards, Bergeron quoted that "indeed, pro wrestling is strong," and violated several building policies as he opened up a bottle of borbon and lit a cigar to celebrate his win. UCSS Tag Team Championship Bout Bunch'a Amateurs(Zak Hayes and Cody Sheppard)(Butterfloor)(C) vs. Shaolin Superstars (Chun Zheng (USW-F) and Gang Wong) Seemingly unstoppable up to this point, the Amateurs finally found a team they couldn't steamroll, as the Shaolin Superstars were able to work them over standing and on the mat, Gang Wong was able to counter Sheppard with a kimura, leading to the submission victory and a change of champions, giving the Shaolin Superstars the UCSS Tag Team championship. Walid Alizadeh vs. Zin Win Aye with the Big Banter Brand(Rory Banner, Virgil de Boer and Sanem Becker) Zin Win Aye had previously made a rather ill-advised choice in challenging punch master Larry Washington in the Realm of Wrestling earlier in the week. This time, he decided to take the fight to Walid Alizadeh, using his usual dirty techniques, and in response, the Persian Powerhouse utterly powerbombed the fight out of his foe, leaving him sprawled on the mat for a knockout loss. Easy win for Walid, another (non)"learning moment" for Aye. Thiago Gracie BJJ(Thiago Gracie and Jamie Tomasi with Angie Armstrong) with Angie Armstrong vs. Red Alert(Leona Sterling(Phoenix Rising) and Aoife Daley) A match with some hefty history, as Jamie Tomasi previously injured Aoife Daley in a past encounter, and with some weighty stakes, with a #1 contendership on the line, these two top teams brought some intense action here. While the Gracie team engaged in their usual armwork, and Tomasi seemed intent on threatening Daley's arm once again with flying armbars, Red Alert were able to come away with the win after Leona Sterling blasted Thiago Gracie out with a kick rush, pinning the BJJ black belt for the three count. Instant Rematch: Van Buren vs. Dwight II Dirk Van Buren(Realm of Wrestling) vs. Della Dwight with Aline Richelieu and Drake Elliott IV(Wrestle Parade) Right off the one minute backslide, the following match was much, much better. And yet, Van Buren still didn't seem like his usual confident self, perhaps shaken by the backslide, perhaps having been under the weather or nursing an undisclosed injury for the night. In any case, in spite of his much-improved showing here(and it really couldn't have been worse), Dirk simply couldn't close out, and as such, took Della Dwight's two stage dragon suplex, the Skyscraper Suplex to take the three count and a second loss for the night. Dirk Van Buren is still arguably the best in the world, and one can only think that this unfortunate loss will lead to him adapting and sealing the holes in his game, more of a Lewis-Rahman loss than a Tyson-Douglas one. Standard Rules Bout Dirk Van Buren(Realm of Wrestling) vs. Della Dwight with Aline Richelieu and Drake Elliott IV(Wrestle Parade) Dirk Van Buren is one of the outright best wrestlers in the world, a top tier high flier who managed to beat Jamie Tomasi on the mat on a previous UCSS outing, a double champion in the Realm of Wrestling. And yet, the relatively unaccomplished Della Dwight was able to draw upon her lifelong training under her legendary father, "Textbook" Tim Dwight, and caught Van Buren in a backslide for a pin at only one minute and six seconds. Fluke of flukes, both competitors were displeased here, and each agreed to an instant rematch. Lanna Ndi vs. Seong Jung Hwan While an exciting display of ability was clearly expected here, Ndi and Hwan delivered a match that far exceeded anyone's predictions with both ladies engaging in a frantic exchange of strikes, both hitting the mat over and over again, Jung Hwan repeatedly taking Ndi head on, playing the Cameroonian Kyokushin fighter's own game, even using a Bull Killing Chop against her at one point. With both having survived an endless string of knockdowns for the first three rounds, Lanna Ndi was finally able to prevail after downing Seong with a hefty roundhouse to the body in the fourth round for the ten count. No doubt about it, both ladies gained from this effort, and both have to be considered possible contenders for a title sooner than not. Agile Warriors(Onika Santos and Anatoly Shkuro) vs. American Apex(Keith Van Horne and Lamont Aldren with Georgia Eagles and Megan Van Horne with Georgia Eagles and Megan Van Horne)(Wrestle Parade) The Agile Warriors took a big step forward in this match, as they utilized their footspeed and striking skills to avoid the mat game against American Apex, and Onika Santos was able to find her proper rhythm to land a big backflip kick on Keith Van Horne to score the pinfall. Easily the best win to date for the Warriors and one that could push them upward in the suddenly crowded tag division. Prestige Rules Bout Eliza Faulkner(MWCC) with Mackenzie Bergeron vs. Soji Kanda(SWA) with Takaya Hinomiya(SWA) Soji Kanda's veteran mindset and effective striking set him off on a big lead in the opening ten minute stanza of this bout, and while Faulkner showed impressive grit in mounting a comeback, outclassing the Prestige pioneer in the second round, it was a matter of too little, too late and after a few close calls, a head kick out of a strike exchange netted the ten count win for Kanda in the second round. Bitter Rivals(Ong Daengsri and Minerva Markovic) vs. Battle Blossoms(Onosa'i Tagaloa and Sakura Ishigami) Absence did not make the heart grow fonder for the Bitter Rivals, reunited for the first time in over half a year, sporting new looks and each showing the signs of intensive training. The Rivals dominated here against the Battle Blossoms, and in true Rivals fashion, Markovic knocked Sakura Ishigami out with a spinning axe kick just as Daengsri set up for her own attack. As much as the Rivals hate each other, they still make for a dangerous team against any foes. Another unfortunate setback for the Blossoms, who will need to retool by the time Ishigami is ready to compete again. --- Match of the Night: Lanna Ndi vs. Seong Jung Hwan -While there was not much competition for the MOTN award on this evening, Lanna Ndi and Seong Jung Hwan went above and beyond in a spirited, gritty display that would elevate both ladies going forward. Performer of the Night: Della Dwight -Two wins over Dirk Van Buren, even if one was an unfortunate fluke, were monumental for Dwight's career, and while she would suffer a knockout loss in a third match against Andronicus Turner, Dwight walked away with two wins over one of the best wrestlers in the world. --- Injury Report Sakura Ishigami: Moderate Concussion (Three Month Medical Suspension) -Axe kicked in the face by Minerva Markovic, Ishigami's ignominous inagural showing in UCSS ended abruptly and as such, she will have to serve as support for Onosa'i Tagaloa for a number of months. Zin Win Aye: Wind Knocked Out (No Medical Suspension) -Ferociously powerbombed by Walid Alizadeh, the Burmese Deathmatch Machine only ended up suffering the results of a reflex diaphragmatic spasm, and will be ready to compete in a few days time. Jack Stacey: Bruised Shin (Four Month Medical Suspension) -Slammed down and unable to compete following a shin breaker from Mackenzie Bergeron, Jack Stacey lost his SWA Prestige title, and will also lose four months of his in-ring career as he recovers. Della Dwight: Moderate Concussion (Two Month Medical Suspension) -On the receiving end of Androncius Turner's fists, Dwight will take a few months to recuperate before she can capitalize on her wins over Dirk Van Buren.

The next Golden Touch event features a mystery opponent showing up in the main event to challenge Hakim Fields for the Number One along with a Dominican Golden Championship contender match and a deep guest list. Golden Touch #26: The Golden Warrior 8:00 PM(CT) on Friday, April 21st at the Beltway Hippodrome in Washington DC Main Event: Senatorial Office Number One Ranking Bout Hakim Fields(C) vs. ??? with Morgan "Midas" Matthews Dominican Golden Championship #1 Contender Bout Roland Chang Jr. vs. Florencia Espinoza Dirk Van Buren(Realm of Wrestling) vs. Drake Elliott IV(Wrestle Parade) with Aline Richelieu Nick MacLeod(Phoenix Rising) vs. Steve Phillips Gabriel Cruise PEWA Debut Gabriel Cruise(PWR) vs. P-Dogg "Sting" vs. "Liz" "Sting"(Wrestle Parade) vs. "Liz" McKenna(Butterfloor) Pure Gold(Mallory Spaulding and "Five Star" Kyle Anderson)(Phoenix Rising) vs. Star Perfect(Kaede Kinoshita and Ayako Miyamoto) Camilla Kidd(Independent) vs. Betty Black Trunks House of Nakajima(Nakajima Sama, Kyosuke Nakajima, Kyoko Nakajima(Sakura Pro) and Wataru Nakajima(ZIP Japan) vs. Office Prospects(The Headhunter, Ana Maria Santana, Innocent Mugisha and Onosa'i Tagaloa) --- Morgan "Midas" Matthews: Hello, my name is Morgan Matthews and I am the person who bankrolls this operation. Anthony Kalb: And I'm the Head of Operations who actually runs the day to day, Anthony Kalb, at your service. We have a special event set up for you tonight with the twenty-sixth Golden Touch event primed and ready. Midas: I decided to set up this press release to clear up a few misconceptions and to address some questions that have apparently been making their way across the internet. To begin with, I have been asked why I could possibly have any reason to actively involve myself in this promotion again. My business associates do not understand what I get out of this. The uninformed fools on the internet whine and cry without even trying to understand. Let me make this clear. I am back because I have signed some important contracts as of late and I feel that nobody should be trusted to see these through without my direct involvement. While Mr. Kalb has surprisingly mangaged to run the Office on a fairly competent level, he has no clue how to actually pull off something of this magnitude. Kalb: Yeah, sure, I'm just the steady hand, don't want to trust me with any deals, would you. Midas, you do know that your tone-deaf speeches constantly drive our audience away and make unnecessary enemies in the press, right? I've dealt with plenty of big deals, maybe if you were paying attention to what you were paying for here, you'd have a clue, there. Midas: I don't have time to deal with insubordination. You should be grateful for the generous compliment I paid you! In any case, we have our Number One Ranked star, Hakim Fields taking on a true titan, a person you may have already been familiar with in the past, someone who I believe will soon become the biggest star in all of professional wrestling. I have made sure to bring this titan back in the best way that only a true master of marketing like myself can accomplish. In the past, I have tried to assemble a Golden Touch team to take charge and provide the proper central attaction for this promotion. This is not the approach I wish to pursue this time. This time, I'll be content simply to sign some sizable checks and let the chips land where they will. So long as we can refresh this stale promotion from time to time and find the best of the best to attract as many fans as possible to spend their money and time with us, then I'm content. Kalb: Sure you are. I know better...but anyway, let's not stop with the main event for tonight. I believe in providing a worthwhile card from top to bottom, and I think we've done that here. We've got a big match to find a contender for the Dominican Golden Championship with Walt Callahan being generous enough to let Roland Chang Jr. and The Lady in Red, Florencia Espinoza face off here in the Golden Touch ring. Walt's had his issues with Midas enough to pull any of his big matches from our cards here, but you know, I've done a lot to fix some of those mistakes...but anyway, there's more. Dirk Van Buren. Drake Elliott IV. Does it get better than that, when it comes to guest matchups? Two of the most skilled performers in the world, two of my very favorites to watch, and you'll get to see them tonight. Kalb: Nick MacLeod ticked some people off recently with a truly putrid performance over in Phoenix Rising, and thanks to that, my old friend, the Senator Emeritus himself decided to take it upon himself to correct Mr. MacLeod's issues in the ring. Good luck there, Steve, you'll need it. From there, we have the debut of Pro Wrestling Revival's violent anarchist, Gabriel Cruise as he goes up against the first ever PEWA champ, the ageless P-Dogg! That's gonna get bloody, no doubt about it. Kalb: In a battle of quotes, we have "Sting" going up against "Liz", you people demanded this one for months, and we're finally bringing it to you! On the last L-Pro show, you saw Pure Gold and Star Perfect in trios action, this time, it's a two on two confrontation with Mallory Spaulding coming off a huge win in the Big Hoss Barbecue teaming with Five Star Kyle Anderson against the Stardust Angel Kaede Kinoshita and the Perfectionist, Ayako Miyamoto. Betty Black Trunks nearly stole the show against the Battle Blossoms earlier in the month, so now we're going to see if she can steal against a pirate in Camilla Kidd. And finally, we have the House of Nakajima in full strength up against three of our most promising prospects, and the Headhunter, too. All together, I think that's a worthwhile show for any wrestling fans, so if you have the time, I highly recommend you spend your evening with us over on the Senatorial Streaming Service! Thank you all for your time here, and I look forward to seeing the action unfold with you all tonight as... Midas: Oh yes, I forgot one more thing. Should our titan fail tonight, do not think I only have one in my plans...the countdown begins now. Twenty, ninteen, eighteen...

Finally, a big Office show that delivered the proper experience that the fans deserved. While not every match was contending for a hundo, this was a show that absolutely brought its best, with a plethora of incredible surprises, including returns and debuts, and a main event that may well have changed the entire hierarchy of the Office's rankings for some time to come. Golden Touch #26: The Golden Warrior 8:00 PM(CT) on Friday, April 21st at the Beltway Hippodrome in Washington DC Bonus Match Robin Nox(Phoenix Rising) and Atlas Stone vs. The P.A.C.("Showtime" Byron Worthy(Warrior Pro) and Christine DeWalt) Another return closed out the night with Atlas Stone finally cleared to compete again, teaming once again with Robin Nox as the Free Agents went up against the PAC's Byron Worthy and Christine DeWalt. This was a solid bonus match that did well to show off the abilities of all four contestants, with DeWalt landing a Filibuster on Nox to score the three count. Main Event: Senatorial Office Number One Ranking Bout Hakim Fields(C) vs. Ajax with Morgan "Midas" Matthews, Persephone and Irkalla Before this match, Midas Matthews appeared to speak a few words: Morgan "Midas" Matthews: It is time now for greatness to descend from the mountain. It is time for the titan to take his rightful place. It is time for you to witness greatness. Experience a true champion! Experience AJAX! And stepping out of the entranceway, and out of the mists of time, came the inhumanly muscled frame of Ajax. Hakim Fields, to his credit, did not falter. He drew blood, fought valiantly inside and outside of the ring and kicked out of the jumping bomb, amazingly avoiding any spears for the duration. But in the end, even though Fields was able to block one super bomb off the top, Ajax was able to set him up again, landing the avalanche jumping bomb for the three count, to become the new Number One Ranked competitor in the Senatorial Office for one of the most shocking results the organization has ever seen. Dominican Golden Championship #1 Contender Bout Roland Chang Jr. vs. Florencia Espinoza Reasonably solid match with Espinoza maanging to work well with Chang's preferred pace early on, landing some impressive moves as the bout went along. However, Roland Chang Jr. is nothing if crafty and a cheap shot into a rollup now guarantees him a shot at El Froggy Mask and the Dominican Golden Championship. The fans were not happy with the results, but the match itself was far from disappointing. Dirk Van Buren(Realm of Wrestling) with Natsumi Komatsubara(Realm of Wrestling) vs. Drake Elliott IV(Wrestle Parade) with Aline Richelieu Accompanied by the Friendliest Kaiju, the face of the Realm of Wrestling, Dirk Van Buren was absolutely on fire here against one of the best pure grapplers in the game in Drake Elliott IV, and Van Buren would walk away with a win after a Baratoplata submission finish. Nick MacLeod(Phoenix Rising) vs. Steve Phillips with Anthony Kalb, Kevin Fitsharris and Monica Tesfaye After Nick MacLeod put on one of the worst matches of the year earlier in the week in his home promotion, the dire showing drew the ire of the Senator Emeritus, with Steve Phillips challenging the Scotsman. Alas, this was less of a challenge than a schooling as Phillips outclassed MacLeod without much trouble, finishing with a pin after a Washington Lariat connected. Gabriel Cruise PEWA Debut Gabriel Cruise(PWR) vs. P-Dogg Joining the PEWA roster from Pro Wrestling Revival, Gabriel Cruise made his long awaited debut here, and engaged in a properly violent hardcore brawl with the original PEWA champ, P-Dogg, who demonstrated here that he is still going strong after several decades, eventually pinning Cruise after a PDT double arm ddt. While the Dogg isn't as active as he once was, it's obvious that he can still tap into the fountain of youth when called upon. As for Cruise, though he may have lost, this was a proper introduction to the PEWA, and a gritty showing that has already endeared him to the Philly fans. "Sting" vs. "Liz" "Sting"(Wrestle Parade) vs. "Liz" McKenna(Butterfloor) The Battle of the Quotes was over almost as fast as it started with Coyote Club/Houndgroup/Dogherd "Sting" donning the red and black against "Liz, but was simply unable to overcome the Butterfloor vet's ground game and suplexes, with a big gutwrench plex into a headlock pin finishing the match. Pure Gold(Mallory Spaulding and "Five Star" Kyle Anderson)(Phoenix Rising) vs. Star Perfect(Kaede Kinoshita and Ayako Miyamoto) Utterly transfixing tussle between two high level teams, as the recently-solidifying duo of Anderson and Spaulding reprsented Pure Gold with their best effort and Star Perfect demonstrated why they are seen as two of the pillars of Lightning Pro's home grown future. While this match would eventually reach the forty five minute time limit, there was nary a moment's rest, nor did either team lack for attempts to finish strong. This was one of the most evenly competitive matches of the year, a deserved hundo and a clear best bout of the evening. Camilla Kidd(Independent) vs. Betty Black Trunks An effective victory for Kidd, who outworked, outsmarted and outfought Betty here, eventually tapping her with the Captain's Hook headlock. House of Nakajima(Nakajima Sama, Kyosuke Nakajima, Kyoko Nakajima(Sakura Pro) and Wataru Nakajima(ZIP Japan) vs. Office Prospects(The Headhunter, Ana Maria Santana, Innocent Mugisha and Onosa'i Tagaloa) A major disappointment for the die-hard fans of the House, even with Great Uncle Wataru on board, the Nakajimas came up short here against a ragtag alliance of Office prospects. Incredibly, the Headhunter was in impressive form, and pinned Kyoko Nakajima with a swinging cradle bomb. --- Match of the Night: Pure Gold vs. Star Perfect -A rare draw that went the distance not due to incompetence or hesitation, but due to two evenly matched teams simply remaining fully competitive for the duration. Highly recommended, in spite of the lack of a definitive result. Performer of the Night: Ajax -The Man from the Mountains made a shocking debut in the Office with a win over Hakim Fields to become the Number One Ranked star, and is the undisputed choice for this award. --- --- At the post event press conference, Ajax silently stood by as Daniel Ness, Anthony Kalb and Midas Matthews approached the podium. Daniel Ness: For those of you who forgot who I am, my name's Daniel Ness, and I've been training people here in the Office for years. I'm here because they told me that I'm now going to be speaking for and representing the man they call Ajax. Look, I'm not really a big talker. I just call it as it is, and that's that. Ajax, he does what he does, and he does it better than just about anyone I've ever seen, fought or trained. He's pretty much my direct opposite. I haven't been a good athlete for twenty years since my knees gave out. Yeah, I was an NCAA champ. Now I'm just an old guy who can use leverage to throw someone, and work them over on the mat once I get them there. I use my head. Ness: Ajax...he's a total freak of nature. I mean, he's one of the top three best athletes I've ever seen in this sport. Guy is a flat out genetic freak. He could probably do what he does for another decade without breaking a sweat. Seriously, who the hell goes up halfway across the worlds into the mountains just because they feel like it? But that's Ajax. He's a different type than the rest of us. And you just saw what he did out there. Hakim Fields is really, really good. He's not just physically honed, he's super-skilled and maybe the most mentally tough person I've seen in the Office. Ajax just took his best shot and ran him down like it didn't even matter. Look, a lot of you out there think Ajax is here to do Midas's bidding. Don't get me wrong, Midas is paying him a damn good paycheck. But Ajax isn't anyone's tool. He's looking to achieve greatness. He's here to step into legend. And he's going to defend the Number One like a real champion. Kalb, you said you had something about that? Anthony Kalb: The moment I saw Midas dug Ajax out of his hiatus, I knew we'd have to be ready for that. And since that match started, I've worked on a little idea. Let's call it the Race to the Mountain Top series. We're going to have a match every week this next month, two of the best that every promotion has to offer. The winners of those matches face off at the next Golden Touch, and then that winner faces Ajax. Let's not hesitate here, we're not paying Ajax this apparently astornomical fee to sit on his backside. We're going to challenge him with the top athletes we have here in the Senatorial Office. Ness: Sounds good to me. On the behalf of Ajax, I approve of that. And I accept it, officially. You can't be great if you don't fight great. So let's let Ajax show us just how great he is. Morgan "Midas" Matthews: Just one second here...you two seem to think that Ajax was my big crowning achievement I was counting down to earlier...oh no, no no no. I think you got that all wrong. Let the countdown continue! Seventeen, sixteen, fifteen...

A good PEWA show that saw a shocking ambush on the PEWA Extreme champ and an impressive start to the Race to the Mountain Top series. RESULTS PEWA: Haven of Hardcore - 4-28-2023 8:00 PM(CT) on Friday, April 28th at the Halcyon Ballroom in Philadelphia, PA Bonus Match Ninja Smith vs. Dr. Trace Gibson Ninja Smith thwarted Trace Gibson's questionalble medical practices here, landing a great combo to finish, hitting a running twisting DDT into her Ninja Corkscrew Press to net the three count. Bonus Match Tornado Rules: Pay Day Enterprises(Elise Pichon and Shrieking Sheik with Sylvain "Pay Day" Mint) vs. Free Agents(Robin Nox(Phoenix Rising) and Atlas Stone) Over fairly quickly, with a bit of a wonky finish. Shrieking Sheik did his thing, busting both foes open, and Elise Pichon would take advantage after Sheik slapped Robin Nox down, landing a big head kick on Atlas Stone, and then choosing to pin Nox for the three. Main Event: Tag Team Extravaganza Bingo Hall Mutants(Rampage Rage and Skullface Killah) and the New Mutants(PM Carnage and the EMP) vs. Powers & Fury(Luke Powers and Jack Fury), Vincent Sheridan(Evergreen) and Hobo Harry Unfortunately, Zach Sheridan was unable to make it to the Halcyon Ballroom in time due to travel issues, but on the plus side, Powers and Fury and Vincent Sheridan found Hobo Harry willing and able to jump in to salvage the main event. Harry would not only even the odds, but turned them in the favor of his team. Harry's squad was able to overcome the usual onslaught from the multi-generational Mutants, with Jack Fury stealing the EMP's jumping bomb variation, and the Hobo would eventually land his still-spectacular Hobosault on EMP to score the three coutn win. A fun main event that went just fine in spite of the last minute change. PEWA Ruler of the Road Championship Bout Big Clay Hurst(C)(Wrestle Parade) vs. Sewer Dragon(Super NOVA) As good a champ as Big Clay has been, he was not prepared for someone to fight as dirty as Sewer Dragon. The Dragon spewed septic sludge on Hurst, used his backside as a weapon and would win with a tilt a whirl slam to claim the Ruler of the Road. A terrifying victory for the Super NOVA pro, who will now contaminate PEWA rings for the forseeable future with mandatory defenses. Kawabata vs. PEWA's Most Hated: Phase II Hideo Kawabata(Realm of Wrestling) vs. Backyard Pyro and Itzcoatl Hernandez Initially meant to be a match between Kawabata and Backyard Pyro after the PEWA Extreme champ destroyed Zanca on the previous month, the PEWA's Most Hated instead struck back this time with a surprise return to the PEWA for the Aztec Executioner, Itzcoatl Hernandez. Having left the PEWA on bad terms a number of years back, in spite of having been a massive free agent acquisition at the time, Hernandez joined Backyard Pyro in a two on one attack on the champ, not dissimilar to his Santana Family Wrestling debut when he joined Rudo EX on a surprise attack against the original Rudo Army. In his usual fashion, Kawabata actually waved off security and tried to fight his attackers off on his own, almost seeming to make a fight out of it before Backyard Pyro knocked him out on the outside of the ring with a brutal Wrist Clutch Pyro Hammer. This was a move that once put Demarcus Browning on the shelf for an extended period, and one can only wonder how badly Kawabata was injured. Wild Women(Mina Fitsharris and Juliette Erving vs. QTWA Allies(Venus Couture and Sophie Sapphic with Raven Brighid)(QTWA) Perhaps the prototypical Wild Women match, with Erving's off color antics opening things up. The Allies fired back with some potent office, from Sapphic's impressive kicks to Couture's running boot, but in the end, Fitsharris would take the win with a brass knuckles punch(legal in the PEWA!) to Venus Couture for the pin. Race to the Mountain Top Series Young Blood vs. Moustapha Ndour A properly violent slugfest worthy of the PEWA, with the first Race to the Mountain Top match showing two of the promotion's best going toe to toe for the duration, with Young Blood opening a cut on Ndour and keeping him on his back foot for long stretches. Even so, the Warbringer was able to hold on, landing his signature pumphandle side slam, the Obliteration Machine for the three count win to move onto the next phase as he seeks a match with Ajax. Eurocore(Top Tyr and Grace Saxon) vs. PEWA's Most Wanted(Jeffrey Janson and "Party Animal" Jeremy Wylde) Not an outright dud, but a far worse time limit draw than the recent Pure Gold-Star Perfect meeting, with the teams keeping a decent pace, action wise, Jeremy Wylde whiffing on a dragonrana to the outside at one point, but while things moved along, neither team seemed too close to a win at any point, resulting in a fairly disappointing bout. Sir Vladimir Henry vs. Oak Man(Butterfloor) Fairly quick match with Sir Henry beating Oak Man to the punch here, landing a chokeslam into an iron claw pin for the victory. Demarcus Browning(Rose Garden) with Renate Barlowe(UCSS) vs. The Headhunter with Heidi Karnstein Never mind the official Ring Beholder ratings here, this was one of the better matches of the night, against all odds. PEWA President Bodybreaker Brown hesitatingly gave Headhunter the clearance to engage in his first singles match since his infamous disaster of a debut, and amazingly, it turned out to be a quality bout, by and large due to the steady hand of Demarcus Browning, who endured the antics of Headhunter, including a head steal, long enough to retalizate with the Browning Buster elevated jumping bomb to score the three. A far better match than anyone could have hoped for, considering the Headhunter's involvement. Masked Maniac IV vs. Gabriel Cruise(PWR) Incredibly one-sided display of violence in favor of Cruise, who earned his first PEWA win by carving Maniac IV up with a steel spike and hitting him with a wrist clutch driver in under eight minutes. Gabriel Cruise was not messing around here. Preshow Bonus Match: LEGIT FIGHT Blue Devil Dukem vs. String Bean A strange phenomenon has emerged in the Office, with Stanford Bradley apparently taking on the persona of "Blue Devil Dukem" and challenging foes to "GET IN THE LEGIT RING" for a single round, three minute bout. "Dukem" claimed a combined record of 267-0 prior to this match, citing wins over John Jones, Shrimp Simpson(twelve wins, there) and other fighters for his resume, and also mentioned that his opponents were required to wear kneepads to face him. This match...was enormously boring and resulted in a draw, with Dukem claiming a judge's decision victory to run his record up to 267-0. --- Match of the Night: Young Blood vs. Moustapha Ndour -A fairly easy pick, with this high level matchup living up to the hype for two competitors seeking an impossible challenge. Performer of the Night: Sewer Dragon -Beating Big Clay Hurst for the Ruler of the Road earned the Dragon his award. --- Injury Report Hideo Kawabata: Undiagnosed (No Medical Suspension) -Clearly knocked out by Backyard Pyro at ringside, Kawabata was rushed to the back where he reportedly regained his senses and stormed out of the arena. As such, the PEWA Extreme champ remains without an official diagnosis. --- An interview with PEWA President Bodybreaker Brown and Maxwell McNally had been scheduled for the day after Haven of Hardcore, with a few highlights excerpted below. To access the full interview, sign up for a World Wrestling Daily Digest Insider account for an introductory rate of only $2.99 a month for the first three months! On the Kawabata ambushMaxwell McNally: I do believe that Itzcoatl Hernandez may be the best suited person to join a group calling themselves "PEWA's Most Hated." Now, I have to figure you couldn't possibly have initiated the deal to bring him to the PEWA from the TIPWF, am I correct? Bodybreaker Brown: Nope, I didn't even have a clue. I'm sure Callahan's pissed, but what else is new, right? I'll find a bone to throw him to make up for this, but yeah, Hernandez came in and beat the hell out of our champ. We're not letting him get away with that, and I can tell you that I'll personally deal with him in his first official match here. McNally: As for Kawabata, he was unceremoniously deposited upon his head outside the ring, and while I have heard that he fought his way out of your medical unit, I somehow figure you cannot put him back in the ring next month in good consciousness. Brown: Nah. Kawabata's about the toughest mofo that I ever met, and you know the line of work I'm in. But I sent him a message and told him that next month, he can sit this one out. He wants back after that, it's on him. On PEWA 25McNally: I am quite intrigued by the idea of a grand celebration of the twenty-fifth anniversary of the PEWA which we'll mark next year, you made a brief mention of this earlier, do you wish to reveal any further details? Brown: Yeah, that's really the reason I wanted to do this interview. You know, last time we rolled this out, PEWA 20, a lot of us Originals came back, and we stuck around. Thing is, most of us, we're pretty long in the tooth now. So where PEWA 20 was the sort of union between past and present, I'm gonna make this call right now. PEWA 25's gonna be the last dance for a lot of us old folks. McNally: I will say I've taken notice that you've been adding quite a bit of younger talent since you signed on as the PEWA President. The Tongan Deathmatch Princess, Melino Tupou, Top Tyr, Grace Saxon, Ninja Smith, Backyard Pyro, you've obviously been building a new generation within the PEWA after years of relying more upon the Originals and experienced deathmatch veterans. So I could certainly say that I've seen you building towards such a point. Brown: Hit the nail on the head. It's been a good run. And personally, I'll keep doing this as long as I can without embarrasing myself. Hobo, the Bingos, there's still some of us who can still hang with the young guns. But really, there's a number of people I'm gonna tell soon to get ready to get in the best shape they can to make PEWA 25 their final career statement. McNally: Do you think it's rather presumpative to dictate the terms of someone's retirement? I know that as the eldest member of the World Wrestling Daily Digest editorial staff, I would not take it very well if Kevin Anderson were to set my expiration date for me. Brown: Hey, if they want to carry on, they can, but I got a responsibility to the PEWA to keep this brand going, and we don't do dead weight. Not to dunk on the TIPWF, but they can pick up our pieces for the Old Guard if we want to keep paying busted up, broken down grapplers who can't keep doing this. If they can prove they're still up for it over the rest of this year, then yeah, I got no problem keepin' them on. But anyway, PEWA 25's still a ways off, it's tough enough keeping this thing going as it is, nothing's for granted in this game, or life, really. Brown: I got Midas breathing down my neck with all his crazy ideas, I got financial realities staring down my neck, I got a locker room to manage, this ain't easy. When I took this baton from Biff Taylor, I knew I was in over my head, but I knew I had to do this. PEWA is life to me, it's what I've done for almost a quarter century. Been swinging chairs, and punching staples into heads and bleeding my blood this whole time, and I don't regret none of it. Max, that's why I'm determined to make it to PEWA 25 and why I want keep this thing going even past that point. We're going to get as many of the old Originals back as we can one more time, we're gonna celebrate what we got now, we're gonna have some of our favorite guests, it's gonna be a good ol' block party for the ages.

A three match series headlines this event, as Lance Marshall enlists the help of Cogburn Ranch to earn a shot at Walt Callahan in a no holds barred cage match. Should Marshall and the Ranch win two out of three of Callahan's Gauntlet, Marshall gets his match with the Commissioner. TIPWF: Callahan's Gauntlet - 5-5-2023 8:00 PM(CT) on Friday, May 5th at the Stockade in Amarillo, TX Main Event: Callahan's Gauntlet: Match Three Lance Marshall(AFW) with Hoss Hank Harcourt Hadley Jr. and Lil' Lariato vs. Boss Ross Foreman with Walt Callahan, Johnny Sixname and Marcus Angulo Callahan's Gauntlet: Match Two Lil' Lariato with Lance Marshall(AFW) and Hoss Hank Harcourt Hadley Jr. vs. Marcus Angulo with Boss Ross Foreman and Walt Callahan and Johnny Sixname Callahan's Gauntlet: Match One Hoss Hank Harcourt Hadley Jr. with Lil' Lariato and Lance Marshall(AFW) vs. Johnny Sixname with Marcus Angulo, Boss Ross Foreman and Walt Callahan Race to the Mountain Top Series Felix Santana Jr. vs. The New Humanity The Trio(The Mallard(MWWC), Rodeo Angel and El Froggy Mask) vs. The Roland Chang Trio(Annie Chang, Roland Chang III and Roland Chang Jr. with Roland Chang Sr.) Jean-Pierre Mutombo vs. Frog Buster(SWA) with Poison Froggy Mask, El Hijo de Sapo(Sakura Pro) and Titas Butkus Hailey Comet and the Celebrated(Toni Bolton and Maxine Blaster) with Generalissimo Kool Q vs. Dynasty Cyclones (Layla Al Amin(Phoenix Rising), Nefertiri and Esi Dogboe with Mohammed Ramses) Drumstick(Wrestle Parade) vs. Moonman Tranquilo Revolution(Sarita Jean Watkins and Misterio Guerrero with Humberto Ortega) vs. Anaka Nava(Wrestle Parade) and Florencia Espinoza with Salvador Sosa

Tom S. Hunter's Introduction to WWDDLet me introduce myself here, my name is Tom S. Hunter, and I'm the newest contributor here at World Wrestling Daily Digest. I've made a name for myself over the internet wrestling community over the last few decades, some of you might know me from getting into way too many arguments on old wrestling message boards. Others might know me from my Quantum Vault project. In any case, I've paid my dues, doing battle in the trenches and contributing content for ages. Now, for the first time, a legit mainstream institution has lowered the drawbridge and let me inside the inner sanctum. You already have your storied percentage match ratings. Those, I suppose, have their place. But that's not my thing. See, I don't buy into a precise number telling the story. This, like wrestling, is an art, not a science. And I'm the Robert Christgau of professional wrestling. I'll give you one of four ratings, two thumbs up, one thumb up, one thumb down, two thumbs down, and give you a paragraph to define why I did that. -In general, two thumbs notate a show that's contending for the event of the year, had multiple matches in the MOTY category and simply can't be missed. Not many of these, maybe a few of them in a year for a promotion. -One thumb up, an average show that was better than worse. There's more of these than anything else, since Sturgeon's Law is bullshit and most professionally produced wrestling shows are decently watchable entertainment if that's what you signed up for. -Then you have a single thumb down, and that's for the shows that just drag on, the ones with a few too many duds, or ones that never gave you a good match to remember. They're not memorably bad, they're just not great. -Finally, you have two thumbs down, in the Office, this is your PEWA Horror of Hardcore 2022. This is the sort of show that is so awful that I'm almost recommending it on the basis of the outright disaster that it brings about. You don't see too many of these, but when you do, it probably wrecked someone's career. [One Thumb Up]: A decent program that delivered some quality matches on the latter half of the card. Callahan's Gauntlet and the Road matches were all entertaning enough. All in all, this is one you'll not mind watching, but you'll probably not go out of your way to do so. RESULTS TIPWF: Callahan's Gauntlet - 5-5-2023 8:00 PM(CT) on Friday, May 5th at the Stockade in Amarillo, TX Bonus Match: Happy Cinco De Mayo! Suerte Mariachi(Rose Garden) vs. Felix Santana III Quality match to close things out on Cinco de Mayo, with Suerte Mariachi doing what he does best: winning. Mariachi was able to survive some big suplexes from Felix III, hitting a Reincarnation to get the three count and send the fans home happy. Main Event: Elimination Melee Lance Marshall(AFW), Hoss Hank Harcourt Hadley Jr, Lil' Lariato and Duke Cogburn vs. Boss Ross Foreman, Walt Callahan, Johnny Sixname and Marcus Angulo Before Lance Marshall could face Boss Ross Foreman for the last match in the Gauntlet, the sore losers of the High Plains Drifters jumped Lance, as well as Lariato and Hadley Jr. This didn't last long with Duke Cogburn joining the fray, turning the match into a full scale four on four elimination melee. This ended up bringing the fireworks with Callahan going after Marshall repeatedly, 4-H eliminated first by the Commissioner's brass knuckles, only for Lariato to even the odds right afterwards by taking out Angulo again. Marshall and Cogburn were pinned by Johnny Sixname, leaving Lariato to fight back against three foes, nearly holding his own before a Boss Ross powerbomb would lead to his pinfall loss. Callahan's Gauntlet: Match Two Lil' Lariato with Lance Marshall(AFW) and Hoss Hank Harcourt Hadley Jr. vs. Marcus Angulo with Boss Ross Foreman and Walt Callahan and Johnny Sixname The second match in the Gauntlet delivered some high octane action, and was as good as any on the night, with Lariato and Angulo dueling back and forth. Eventually, Lariato was able to pull ahead, hitting his snap up brainbuster to gain the pinfall over the former TIPWF interim champion, sealing the deal for Lance Marshall to face Walt Callahan inside a Steel Roundup cage at Golden Touch. Callahan's Gauntlet: Match One Hoss Hank Harcourt Hadley Jr. with Lil' Lariato and Lance Marshall(AFW) vs. Johnny Sixname with Marcus Angulo, Boss Ross Foreman and Walt Callahan Although Sixname was as vicious as ever, 4-H was able to withstand his storm of piledrivers to land his Hossbreaker jumping argentine backbreaker drop to get the pin and the first win in the Callahan's Gauntlet. Race to the Mountain Top Series Felix Santana Jr. vs. The New Humanity Quality match here that saw Esteban Vargas turning back a strong effort from Felix Junior, eventually catching the lucha legend with a toss up powerbomb and a standing moonsault press for the win, advancing to the next stage of the Race at the next Golden Touch. The Trio(The Mallard(MWWC), Rodeo Angel and El Froggy Mask) vs. The Roland Chang Trio(Annie Chang, Roland Chang III and Roland Chang Jr. with Roland Chang Sr.) The Chang family continued their winning ways here with Annie pinning Froggy Mask with a low kick into a gedo clutch. With Roland Junior facing the frog for the Dominican Golden Championship soon, this will not bode well for the champion. Jean-Pierre Mutombo vs. Frog Buster(SWA) with Poison Froggy Mask, El Hijo de Sapo(Sakura Pro) and Titas Butkus Disaster struck here thanks to Frog Buster pulling off a huge win with the TIPWF Lone Star Heavyweight champ, Hijo del Sapo, fellow Anti-Phibian Alliance member, Poison Froggy Mask and surprisingly, Titas Butkus all at ringside. JPM, for once, was unable to overcome the onslaught from the behemoth, and was pinned after a Concrete Hurricane judgement slam. Hailey Comet and the Celebrated(Toni Bolton and Maxine Blaster) with Generalissimo Kool Q vs. Dynasty Cyclones (Layla Al Amin(Phoenix Rising), Nefertiri and Esi Dogboe with Mohammed Ramses) Solid win for the Cogburn contingent with the Celebrated putting in good work before Hailey Comet was able to pin Nefertiri with a Southern Star Press. Layla Al-Amin was by far the most dangerous competitor here for the Cyclones, but was unable to lead her team to victory this time. Drumstick(Wrestle Parade) vs. Moonman Decent little match that saw Moonman cruise on ahead to a win after hitting his Lunar Lander moonsault double stomp. Tranquilo Revolution(Sarita Jean Watkins and Misterio Guerrero with Humberto Ortega) vs. Anaka Nava(Wrestle Parade) and Florencia Espinoza with Salvador Sosa A well paced opener that saw Nava pinning Watkins after her Bloody Rain lifting stormbreaker variant. Sarita, though had a strong showing, again showing her drastic improvement as of late. --- Match of the Night: Santana vs. Vargas -The New Humanity took a big step up, and Felix Junior again demonstrated why he's still one of the most reliable workers in wrestling. Performer of the Night: Lil' Lariato -Two pinfalls over Marcos Angulo and a brave last stand against the High Plains Drifters made Lariato an easy choice. --- "Fast" Eddie Edison: This is "Fast" Eddie Edison here from World Wrestling Daily Digest giving you the superspeed scoop with TIPWF Commisioner Walt Callahan. So, Walt, you know I don't waste time, and you know I don't give a damn so I'm just going to throw this at you right away. What the hell's your problem right now? Walt Callahan: My problem? You're asking me what my problem is, eh? I don't know. Maybe I've been dealing with far too much bullshit from Midas Matthews for too long. He's been taking my belts and my champions and run me around, way I see it, if I don't project strength, the TIPWF loses. That's the sort of thing that puts a man on edge. But that might not be it. Could be, I see someone like Lance Marshall waltz into my company and put himself in my business. You think I like that? Edison: I don't know if I see it that way, but the way you put it, I guess I don't think so. Callahan: Funny. Man thinks he's funny over there. But anyhow, I see someone like Marshall elbow into my business with my talent, and I don't care what his last name is, he's not the sheriff around these parts. He wants to do that, well, I figured he had to pay a price for that. And that's why I did what I did. Edison: So, does that explain why you've been an outright asshole to your own people, then? Callahan: I'm old, I'm pissed off, and I have the best damn roster on the planet. But they don't always live up to that. So maybe they just got a bit unlucky. Edison: Two more questions and I'm gone. First, Jean-Pierre Mutombo, I hear that he's looking to go into the movies. Do you have any plans to keep him attached to the TIPWF? And if not, how do you fill a gap the size of the African Supersensation in the TIPWF? Callahan: They say Mutombo is the best that we've ever seen around these parts. But I say you're only as good as your last match. And his last match...wasn't all that good. He wants to go be a big star, I say, be my guest. I'll also say, before everyone comes crying to me, that the door will be open if he does that and finds that isn't all it's cracked up to be. Edison: Alright, last one, you, Lance Marshall, Steel Roundup. Do you really think you stand a snowball's chance in hell? Callahan: Doesn't look like it on the surface. But the difference between him and I is that he goes out to wrestle. For my whole long life, I've been a fighter. And Marshall might have his lariat, his Stampede, his Cattle Drive. But I...(Callahan pulls out a pair of brass knuckles from his suit pocket with a slim smile on his face)...I got my Magnum Force. Edison: And that was a thoroughly enjoyable talk with the TIPWF Commissioner, Walt Callahan, scheduled in two weeks to take on American Frontier Wrestling's Lance Marshall at the next Golden Touch in a Steel Roundup cage match! This is "Fast" Eddie Edison, giving you the news you can use at the speed you need, signing off!

The Rookie Killer, Koji Sawada earned a shot at the Victorious Medal and Ibrahim Rahman in a match seen at the conclusion of this towering card, with L-Pro's future on display in Chicago with multiple debuts and some of the best young grapplers in the Office doing battle. Lightning Pro X Wacker Drive: Rahman vs. Sawada - 5-12-2023 8:00 PM(CT) on Friday, May 12th at Wacker Drive Revival in Chicago, IL Victorious Medal Championship Bout Ibrahim Rahman(C) with Blair Taylor vs. Koji Sawada with Kengo Tamura Victorious Tag Medal Number One Contender Bout Star Perfect (Kaede Kinoshita and Ayako Miyamoto) with Kojiro Burai(Phoenix Rising) vs. Pure Gold (Kyle Anderson and Mallory Spaulding) with Kanjirin Tonirian(Phoenix Rising) Takayuki Ueda vs. King Bemba with Bemba's Royal Court(Mr. Moonsault, Yetunde Oya and Esther Musambi) The Destructive Duo(Crusher Honda and Wrecker Yamamoto) vs. The Goodfellas(Eddie the Wire and Tony the Rod) with Lucretia DeCalvacante and Mr. Cobra NBNF(X-Treme Kid, Taylor Nguyen, Emerald Santiago and DUDE Smith) vs. Leilani Auerbach and Bemba's Royal Court(Mr. Moonsault, Esther Musambi and Yetunde Oya) Daisuke Ogomori(Realm of Wrestling) vs. Innocent Mugisha Naoka Takemura(Free Agent) vs. Natsumi Komatsubaru(Realm of Wrestling) Double Debut Rumika Hashi, Rimi Kondo and Francesco Hirose vs. Sampath Thakur(PEWA), Aishwarya Dhawan and Yuriko Masamune Preliminary Main Event: Race to the Mountain Top Series G.P. [One Thumb Up] This was fairly close to two thumbs, but the Ogomori-Mugisha match went way too long when it could have been a MOTY contender and the upper card was a bit underwhelming. With that all taken into account, this was overall a good card with some great action in the early going that's worth your time. -Tom S. Hunter RESULTS Lightning Pro X Wacker Drive: Rahman vs. Sawada - 5-12-2023 8:00 PM(CT) on Friday, May 12th at Wacker Drive Revival in Chicago, IL Bonus Match Byron Worthy(Warrior Pro) with Monica Tesfaye vs. Onosa'i Tagaloa with Sakura Ishigami Quick match with lots of matwork between the Warrior Pro star, Byron Worthy and the active half of the Battle Blossoms, Onosa'i Tagaloa. After a number of scrambles, Tagaloa was able to catch Worthy in a D'arce choke to score the submission win in a match that seemed close enough that either could have scored the rapid victory. Victorious Medal Championship Bout Ibrahim Rahman(C) with Blair Taylor vs. Koji Sawada with Kengo Tamura An impetuous challenge from Sawada, but Rahman was able to weather the storm and when the Tunisan Nomad turns up the heat, few can compete. A warp speed running sunset flip pinning the Rookie Killer for the three, and Rahman remains the rightful owner of the Victorious Medal. Victorious Tag Medal Number One Contender Bout Star Perfect (Kaede Kinoshita and Ayako Miyamoto) with Kojiro Burai(Phoenix Rising) vs. Pure Gold (Kyle Anderson and Mallory Spaulding) with Kanjirin Tonirian(Phoenix Rising) Kojiro Burai was fashionably late to ringside for Star Perfect, but perhaps this was the deciding factor that threw Pure Gold off here, as Ayako Miyamoto was able to put Mallory Spaulding down for a KO win fairly early on with a seoi nage shoulder throw, almost certainly making her mentor, the great judoka, Mr. Nobunaga proud, but also disappointing the fans who were hoping for a standout match between the two talented teams. Takayuki Ueda vs. King Bemba with Bemba's Royal Court(Mr. Moonsault, Yetunde Oya and Esther Musambi) A brave, determined effort from Ueda, but the Destroyer was simply too much for him, with King Bemba landing the Royal Annihilation to pin the fast rising L-Pro star. The Destructive Duo(Crusher Honda and Wrecker Yamamoto with G.P. Christopher and Reimi Makabe) vs. The Goodfellas(Eddie the Wire and Tony the Rod) with Lucretia DeCalvacante and Mr. Cobra Reimi Makabe and GPC showed up again to second the Destructive Duo as they took on the veteran Made Men of the Syndicate, the Goodfellas. As it was, Makabe went two for two for the night at ringside, with the Duo overcoming a strong threat from the Wire and the Rod, with Honda eventually pinning Eddie the Wire after a Murder Crush. NBNF(X-Treme Kid, Taylor Nguyen, Emerald Santiago and DUDE Smith) vs. Leilani Auerbach and the D-Team(Daunte Thomas, Astrid Johansson and Freight Train McMichaelson) Originally, this was booked to pit Leilani Auerbach and Bemba's Royal Court vs. NBNF. Instead, King Bemba called Moonsault, Musambi and Oya back, telling them to leave Auerbach to fend for herself, Just when it looked like NBNF had a free win, the D-Team came to her aid, evening the odds. And past that, they flat out took over, with NBNF now facing an almost entirely different side, and Freight Train McMichaelson was able to pin Emerald Santiago after a diving shoulder block. Leilani Auerbach may have been hurting from the betrayal of her mentor, but seemed overjoyed to accept the offer to join the D-Team officially after the match. Daisuke Ogomori(Realm of Wrestling) vs. Innocent Mugisha An incredible marathon of a bout between one of the most promising prospects in all of pro wrestling and a storied legend of the game. For over half an hour, Daisuke Ogomori managed to keep pace with the younger, fresher Mugashi, who in his own right, managed to somehow match fighting spirit with the crushing chops of his elder, the two repeatedly trading down the stretch. Eventually, with Ogomori seemingly having decided to just fight, giving up repeated obvious pinning opportunities, Mugisha managed to score a huge upset with a victory roll variant, rolling the Realm of Wrestling stalwart up for the three. An exciting match only hurt by Mugisha's lack of killer instinct and Ogomori holding back as the match went along. Naoka Takemura(Free Agent) vs. Natsumi Komatsubaru(Realm of Wrestling) In typical fashion, Naoka Takemura went on a rant before the match about Reimi Makabe reportedly being offered a chance to lead a SHINYSHINY91 spinter group to do intro songs for L-Pro, and completely disregarded the Friendliest Kaiju to her own downfall. Komatsubaru utterly steamrolled Takemura, hitting a running busaiku knee for a sub-ten minute pinfall win. Double Debut Rumika Hashi, Rimi Kondo and Francesco Hirose vs. Sampath Thakur(PEWA), Aishwarya Dhawan and Yuriko Masamune A quick rundown of the complexity of this match's signifcance before recapping the actual results: This was the debut of both L-Pro Dojo rookie, Italian-Japanese prospect Francesco Hirose, and Aishwarya Dhawan's ace for her Indian promotion, Amaron Ka Akhaada, Arena of the Immortals, new PEWA import Sampath Thakur. This also marked Rimi Kondo's first match as an official member of the L-Pro main roster, having been promoted from the Dojo, and on top of that, featured the first sighting of a new attire for Rumika Hashi. As for the match itself, all six entrants were able to stand out, with Hirose's athleticism, Thakur's power, Dhawan's viciousness, Kondo's skill, and Hashi's no-nonsense kicks all shining. In the end, though, it was Yuriko Masamune's experience that came through with a forty-three minute Cross STF on Kondo that scored the win. Preliminary Main Event: Race to the Mountain Top Series G.P. Christopher with Reimi Makabe vs. ALEXANDER with Tarkhan the Mangler With the GPClub President, SHINYSHINY91 idol group founder and new addition to the L-Pro Dojo, Reimi Makabe in his corner(an exception made for the otherwise seconds-less Race series, with Tarkhan in for ALEXANDER), GP Christopher could do no wrong in this spectacular shootout, in spite of eating a Gordian Drop practically right after the opening bell. While ALEXANDER maintained control for a large portion of the match, GPC was able to mount an impressive comeback, eventually landing a point blank shining wizard to score the three count over the Worldwide Conquest leader. This was absolutely one of those times where the Preliminary Main Event entirely lived up to its reputation. --- Match of the Night: GPC vs. ALEXANDER -A phenomenal Preliminary Main and Race to the Mountain Top bout that showed the best of these two dynamic veterans. While Mugisha-Ogomori was an epic marathon in its own right, the extended duration and lack of latter phase finish attempts put it a notch below this one. Performer of the Night: Ibrahim Rahman -A confident win over Koji Sawada marked a quality title defense for the Victorious Medal holder. --- Injury Report: Mallory Spaulding (No Reported Injury) -A seoi nage shoulder throw from Ayako Miyamoto put Spaulding down, but it seeemed to only knock the wind out of the Pure Gold suplex specialist and it was reported that she was not treated backstage. --- Highlights excerpted from a weekend Ring Beholder interview with Lightning Pro Chairman, Shima Ito. All quotes are translated from Japanese. Digital Dave Doolittle: *Let me address the issue that we are all talking about. The leak that came out right before this show with the PEWA making an offer to acquire G.P. Christopher. Would you be willing to speak on this?* Shima Ito: *Yes. The PEWA's offer was blatantly insulting. They wanted one of our top stars for a large sum of cash and a one to one trade. This would not work. GPC has said he does not want to leave his friends and absolutely will go nowhere without Reimi Makabe. Reimi may have just arrived, but we see her as a major part of our business in the future with her crossover appeal and multi-faceted abilities. We made a counter offer to match those expectations.* Digital Dave: *We saw in the leak that this counter offer was very...interesting.* Ito: *We asked for Moustapha Ndour, Tomas, X-KIRA and Sampath Thakur. I was told this was too much. But is it not too much to ask for Christopher and Makabe? I think this was only fair. If this was too much for the PEWA, for Bodybreaker Martin Brown, then he can withdraw his offer. It is unfortunate this had to reach the media and this is all I will say.* Digital Dave: *I have also heard that you were interested in bringing Ajax to L-Pro. What is the truth to this rumor?* Ito: *Not likely. If Morgan Matthews pays, then we will show our interest. But we will not cut half our roster to pay his salary.* Digital Dave: *Of all the Office promotions, Lightning Pro has the best development system. Do you have any thoughts on the future of L-Pro, and if you would be kind enough to answer the big question, I would like to know who you believe are your Four Pillars for the future. This is a major point of debate for the fans.* Ito: *L-Pro has always believed that we must reach for the future at all times. Our Dojo is focused on producing the best talent in the entire world. As for your other question, there is no question that Kaede Kinoshita, Takayuki Ueda and Koji Sawada are Pillars. It is my belief that we have many others who can be the fourth, Ayako Miyamoto, Innocent Mugisha, Rimi Kondo, Aishwarya Dhawan, maybe even Francesco Hirose in time. But I will not pick that person by my decree. They must earn their place.* Digital Dave: *I will respect your decision to answer this question with the respect to your position as Chairman. But I do know the fans will be disappointed that you did not give them the outright answer they wanted. Lastly, I wish to ask for any information concerning L-Pro's future championship bouts. Who will be competing for Rahman's Victorious Medal? Will the D-Team challenge for NBNF's Victorious Tag Medals? Do the Destructive Duo and their allies have to face the Syndicate in the same tired elimination format for The Loop?* Ito: *I do not have a contender lined up yet for the Medal. Worldwide Conquest want one of theirs to do so, but they must earn it. Steve Phillips has impressed me lately. Maybe he can fight one of theirs for a chance. The D-Team may be busy with their issues concerning Bemba's Royal Court, and Star Perfect are obvious challengers. Finally, yes, the Syndicate have a right to determine the form of their contests. But the same rules will be in place from their match with the PAC, if Crusher Honda's alliance can come out ahead in numbers at the end of a time limit draw, then they can choose the terms of their rematch. This should answer your questions and I will field no further questions.*

[One Thumb Down] A solid, but uniformly unspectacular UCSS installment with a bracket of watchable matches and a surprising lack of excessive CTE infliction. The main event was more tactical than explosive and aside from Zheng-Sterling, Apex-DrAline and De Boer-Alizadeh, the intensity was not there. This wasn't a terrible show, Stanford Bradley cameo aside, just not one that you'll remember in a month. -Tom S. Hunter UCSS Unification: Fields vs. Alger II - 5-19-2023 8:00 PM(CT) on Friday, May 19th at the Doors of Perception in Los Angeles, CA Bonus Match Aoife Daley vs. Seong Jung Hwan A debut for a new attire for Daley, and a good showing for the Irish Firecracker, but Seong Jung Hwan was simply too good, landing a blistering kick flurry in the third round to net the ten count victory. UCSS Openweight Championship Bout Hakim Fields(C)(UCSS Openweight Championship) with Francine Francis vs. Dangerous Nicholas Alger(C)(UCSS Interim Championship) with Candace Monroe(Phoenix Rising) and Ruthless Nicole Alger A measured, careful bout between two competitors with a great deal of respect for each other and a healthy mutual fear of each other's capabilities. While the Dangerous One would strike first with a Dangerous Kick to the head, repeatedly thwarting Fields's signature techniques, the Openweight Champion would hold on, and finally, in the third round, was able to catch Alger with his Hapa Elbows, earning the stoppage victory and unifying the titles once again for Universal Combat Shoot Style. Race to the Mountain Top Series Virgil De Boer vs. Walid Alizadeh A seemingly competitive match until de Boer unleashed fury with a series of stomps on Alizadeh, knocking him out in brutal fashion to proceed to the next stage of the Race. Prestige Rules Bout Mackenzie Bergeron with Eliza Faulkner(MWWC) vs. Takaya Hinomiya with Soji Kanda(SWA) Bergeron came out ahead here in another impressive showing, submitting Hinomiya with a leglock. Chun Zheng(Neutral Grounds) with Gang Wong vs. Leona Sterling(Phoenix Rising) with Aoife Daley Excellent match that went toe to toe for four rounds before Chun Zheng submitted to Leona Sterling's dreaded Scottish Guillotine. A big win for Red Alert ahead of their title match against the Shaolin Superstars. Thiago Gracie BJJ(Thiago Gracie, Jamie Tomasi and Angie Armstrong) vs. MATWORK(Cherry Blossom Ikki, Victor Bosch and Thomas Lancashire with Mikazuki(SWA) A good competitive trios match(don't pay attention to Doolittle's rating, he's crazy) that showcased equal parts technicality and grit with Thomas Lancashire eventually submitting Angie Armstrong with a seated armlock to give MATWORK the win. Standard Rules Bout Dirk Van Buren(Realm of Wrestling) vs. Anatoly Shkuro with Onika Santos Over almost as fast as it started, Dirk Van Buren showed his all around skills here, submitting Shkuro with a headscissors kimura at just over ten minutes. Aline Richelieu and Drake Elliott IV vs. American Apex(Keith Van Horne and Lamont Aldren with Megan Van Horne and Georgia Eagles)(Wrestle Parade) One of the better matches of the night, with some dynamite exchanges between Drake Elliott IV and the Apex duo, but eventually Keith Van Horne would pin the Dragon Prince after one of his potent diagonal German Suplex holds. Bonus Match: Dukem Challenge Boxing Blue Devil Dukem vs. Andronicus Turner Utterly pathetic showing from Stanford Bradley under his Blue Devil Dukem persona, surviving a few minutes with Andronicus Turner and claiming his sixty ninth victory as a "decision win." Even worse, Bradley got on the microphone after the match: Blue Devil Dukem: "That's right! I'm the best in the world! I'm GOATed! I'm so bad I make medicine puke! I'm baaaaad!" "Sixty Nine and nuthin! I'll never lose! Never!" Onosa'i Tagaloa with Sakura Ishigami vs. Anaba Camacho with Francine Francis A third round ten count victory for Tagaloa following a Volcanic Suplex saito variation on Camacho, beating the Greco Roman specialist at her own game. Bradley "Bradley Carr" Carr(Butterfloor) and Bunch'a Amateurs(Zak Hayes and Cody Sheppard)(Butterfloor) vs. Bitter Rivals(Minerva Markovic and Ong Daengsri) and Lanna Ndi This match put together two teams of antagonists against each other, with Bitter Rivals and Lanna Ndi having no love for each other, and a rivalry between Bradley Carr and the Bunch'a Amateurs going back to collegiate days. As it was, the Butterfloor grapplers dominated the bout, with Zak Hayes using a basic wrestler's headlock to submit Ong Daengsri. --- Match of the Night: Zheng vs. Sterling -A good preview match for the UCSS Tag Championship bout, with both ladies keeping up a solid competitive pace. Performer of the Night: Hakim Fields -Unifying the titles, Fields managed to overcome a competent challenge from DNA to make a clear statement. --- Injury Report Walid Alizadeh: Moderate Concussion (Three Month Medical Suspension) -Repeated stomps to the face from Virgil de Boer knocked the Persian Powerhouse out and will put him on the shelf for some time. --- "Textbook" Tim Dwight: As part of my role as a contributor here for World Wrestling Daily Digest, it is my duty and pleasure to speak with one of the great pioneers in the modern fusion of professional wrestling and martial arts, the Universal Combat Shoot Style Commissioner, Dangerous Nicholas Alger. Mr. Alger, until just a little while ago, you were once again a champion in UCSS, holding the Interim belt. How do you feel now that you came up short against Hakim Fields. Dangerous Nicholas Alger: Relieved. Really. I didn't want to be champ. But I figured I'd step up. Fought a tournament. Won it. But Hakim's one of the best, doesn't bother me to lose to him. I mean, I hate losing. But he's someone who can beat anyone. And he's someone I respect as champ. Dwight: UCSS has had a reputation as a tightly run promotion for some time now, what do you think you've done to earn that? DNA: I dunno. I scout well, always look for good fighters. Got a good scouting system, know what we need, know what it takes to find and get it. I don't screw with things too much. UCSS is what it is, you know what you're getting with us. Dwight: I do know that Morgan Matthews has mentioned an interest in combining the UCSS and L-Pro tag divisions and championships. Any thoughts on that? DNA: I hate it. Victorious Tag Medals got a legit history. My belts, we're building our history now. We got a damn good division. Anyone from there wants to fight here? Great. We'll accept their challengers. Send ours over there if they need a team. I like Shima Ito. He's easy to work with. But his Medals, our belts, they're better separate. Dwight: Alright, I have to ask this one, as a father. DNA: Argh. Dwight: Yeah, I know. So, with Della, she earns not just one, but two of the biggest wins of her career over a top star in Dirk Van Buren of the Realm of Wrestling. And then you book her a third time, against the biggest knockout puncher in UCSS in Andronicus Turner. Care to inform me why you punished Della for winning, there? DNA: Figured she loses, the Realm stops moaning I devalued their big star. Della wins, she becomes the big star. Earns a title shot, right there. Dwight: Very well. So here's an idea, why not do this. If Della's back intact in July, how's about her and I take on you and your daughter at Mid Year Lariats. We have ourselves a nice little match, and any hard feelings are left by the wayside. DNA: Ain't you retired? I'm not into hitting the Dangerous Kick on old men. And I don't take it easy on anyone in the ring. No exception. Dwight: Honestly, I appreciate your concern, but good as you are, I think Della can carry my team that much better. I have a lot of confidence in her, and I think I still have enough left in the tank to keep myself from being a total liability! DNA: Fine. You sign off on it, you're on. Come get some. Dwight: I'd be glad to.

[One Thumb Down] How do you take a show that had one of the best matches of the year in a crucial spot, with the featured bouts all having delivered to some degree or another, a great main event that overdelivered and still end up with a thumb down? You end up with lower card bouts that suck the air out of the arena, and terrible matches that manage to piss off the fans of every wrestler invovled. This was a story of two opposite end of the spectrum, a show that equally flirted with two thumbs as much as it competed with December to Dismember or Heroes of Wrestling with its low points. Quick guide: watch the Preliminary Main, skip to the Marshall-Callahan match, and you have a worthwhile viewing experience without everything that gave me a headache. -Tom S. Hunter RESULTS Golden Touch #27: The Race To The Mountain Top - 5-26-2023 8:00 PM(CT) on Friday, May 26th at the Will Rogers Entertainment Center in Washington, DC Main Event: Race To The Mountain Top Finale - Senatorial Office Number One Ranking Bout Ajax(C) vs. Moustapha Ndour Donning his Warbringer armour, Moustpaha Ndour absolutely took the fight to Ajax, showing no fear or fatigue in doing so, in spite of his earlier victory and Ajax's status. And while Ndour gave Ajax one of the best matches of his career, it would not be enough. Ajax, often seen as an eternal front runner, pulled off a big comeback, hitting his dreaded spear and attempting multiple times to land his avalanche jumping bomb, finally managing to connect for the three count in the end. An absolutely superb main event, but soon, Morgan Matthews would show up at ringside while Ajax celebrated. Morgan "Midas" Matthews: Well done, Ajax. Midas: You did it. You did what was expected of you. But now, you need a true challenge worthy of your mythical status. Midas: So let the countdown commence...thirteen, twelve, eleven...ten... Midas: At Mid-Year Lariats, you will face a man who steps out of legend, who has not been seen for five years in the ring! You will face the unbeaten giant! You will face N9NE! And with those words, the Mythical Monster, N9NE walked out next to Midas, officially marking the main event for Mid Year Lariats, as two of the most destructive forces in wrestling history are now aligned to meet with the Number One Ranking on the line. UCSS Tag Team Championship Bout Shaolin Superstars(Chun Zheng(Neutral Ground) and Gang Wong)(C) vs. Red Alert(Leona Sterling(Phoenix Rising) and Aoife Daley) An even better championship tag match than the one that came before it, with the champions doing well to demonstrate the reason they held the belts, but Red Alert, after so many times climbing the ladder and coming up just short were as determined as any duo have been, dragging the match into deep water. Aoife Daley and Leona Sterling would finally be able to celebrate after Daley choked Gang Wong out with a katahajime submission. Red Alert are now the UCSS Tag champs and will finally be able to enjoy the fruits of their labor. Lightning Pro Victorious Tag Medal Championship Bout NBNF(Emerald Santiago and Taylor Nguyen with X-Treme Kid and DUDE Smith)(C) vs. Star Perfect(Kaede Kinoshita and Ayako Miyamoto) A competitive match between two excellent teams, but Star Perfect were simply a step above, with Miyamoto continuing her rampage across L-Pro by knocking Taylor Nguyen out with a high angle throwing german suplex, earning the Medals for the two top homegrown stars. Kaede Kinoshita has now held both singles and tag gold in L-Pro, and is undisputedly one of the best in the business. Steel Roundup Grudge Match Lance Marshall(AFW) vs. Walt Callahan The show took a big upward turn with this ruthless brawl, Walt Callahan's stubborn toughness and devious mind keeping him in the game against a younger, bigger, more athletic opponent. But Lance Marshall is far from a random hoss, and overcoming Callahan's endless bag of dirty tricks, pulled off a win with a pin off his classic Demonkiller(Commissionerkiller?) bomb, dead center in the ring, after multiple brass knuckle shots from Callahan dropped Marshall into the ropes. Special Popular Online People Boxing Challenge Blue Devil Dukem(69-0-0) vs. Landon Balls(Butterfloor) There was nothing to show here, as Stanford Bradley got on the microphone before the match, pointing at his opponent's bare knees... Blue Devil Dukem: Match canceled! No kneepads, no go! I can't compete if they don't wear kneepads! That's not safe! Nope! Not happening! I'm outta here! And with that, Stanford Bradley aka. Blue Devil Dukem stormed to the back, leaving a bewildered, irritated Landon Balls in the ring, without a match to be had. Ghost of A Chance(Seiko Kankyako(Typhoon Pro) and Yamikuro) vs. Funky Dealers(Fresh Fuji and Yukiko Harada)(Rose Garden) Dave Doolittle may have enjoyed this, but he was likely the only person in existence to have done so, including the competitors. Yamikuro pinned Yukiko Harada to win the match. Secret Skurai Ninja Invitational Match Skurai vs. Silent Death A former apprentice of Skurai's ended up being his challenger, the man previously known as Ninja Lee now calling himself Silent Death, and utterly thrashed his prior mentor before hitting a side rolling grounded roundhouse to score the pinfall. Silent Death joins the PEWA and looks to wreak havoc after an impressive first bout. Tribute To Tina Josie J. Jett(Freelance) vs. La Belleza Josie J. Jett may have intended to pay tribute to the late, great Tina Turner with her match here, but with such a flat performance, the retro soul singing big boot machine will not likely earn an encore in any Office promotion any time soon, remaining on the free agent lists. Terrible match that seemingly dragged on forever, with Jett thankfully pinning after a diving boot to the face. Truly awful showing. Green River Debut Match Green River Wrestling(Lucia Shikongo-Calhoun, Abednego Calhoun and Obadiah Calhoun) vs. Guts and Glory(Georgia Eagles, Megan Van Horne and Flex Steele)(Wrestle Parade) Impressive first showing in the Office from the Waynesboro, TN based trio from Green River Wrestling, with the Calhoun Bros and Namibian born Lucia Shikongo-Calhoun demonstrating their skills, with Obadiah Calhoun pinning Georgia Eagles with an incredible Phoenix Dragonrana. Preliminary Main Event: Race To The Mountain Top Royale Moustapha Ndour vs. The New Humanity, Esteban Vargas vs. G.P. Christopher vs. Virgil de Boer A match entirely in the running for MOTY honors, with an incredibly intense confrontation abruptly interrupted by the onslaught of Virgil de Boer, first knocking out G.P. Christopher with a stomp to the face. Later on, the New Humanity would also be taken out of the bout with a flurry of grounded stomps from de Boer, the second knockout of the night for the Muay Thai Enforcer. This would set the table for an incredible back and forth struggle between Moustapha Ndour and de Boer, one of the most intense, suspenseful exchanges in recent memory, with both men taking the other to the absolute limit, both kicking out of signature moves. De Boer would stand up several times after an Obliteration Machine, finally leading to Ndour hitting the move one more time dead center to score the pinfall, earning his shot at Ajax in the main event. Bonus Preshow Match Free Agents(Robin Nox(Phoenix Rising) and Atlas Stone) vs. Renacimiento(Leonardo Pascual and Oliver Espadas)(SWA) The ever-available duo of Stone and Nox reunited here in this preshow match, and did quite well against the SWA's workrate legends, with Nox setting Leonardo Pascual up for a running Atlas Stone splash to score the three count. --- Match of the Night: Ndour vs. Vargas vs. GPC. vs. De Boer -The Race To The Mountain Top Royale was an intense, violent, dramatic spectacle, and everything that one could have hoped for, by far the best match of the card, and perhaps the best Office bout of the year up to this point. Performer of the Night: Red Alert(Leona Sterling, Aoife Daley) and Moustpaha Ndour -Red Alert finally managed to find the elusive belts that have slipped through their grasp for so long and the Warbringer both won a MOTY candidate against three dangerous foes and gave Ajax a run for his money, no small feat in and of itself. --- Injury Report G.P. Christopher: Mild Concussion (Two Month Medical Suspension) -A jumping stomp to the face from Virgil de Boer KOed the King of the Openers, but not as badly as... Walid Alizadeh: Moderate Concussion (Three Month Medical Suspension) -A brutal series of stomps from de Boer waylayed the Persion Powerhouse, putting him on the shelf indefinitely, with the three month suspension serving only as a mandatory minimum. Taylor Nguyen: Bruised Rib (One Month Medical Suspenison) -Thrown with a high release German from Ayako Miyamoto, Total MDK Taylor Nguyen landed hard and will take some time to get back to her best. ---
