Didn't even know more SFV characters were coming

Yeah, this was a big surprise to me too. I thought they were done.
Apparently he's going to be important for new SF games that are set in the future.
It looks like they may finally move beyond the SF3 time frame! 😁
This guy has young lion written all over him.
I like his quick strikes. They remind me of Ryuji Yamazaki. I wish he had some grapple moves though.

Balrog meets Fei Long meets Steve Fox. Interesting, I had no idea new characters are still being churned out. Thanks!

His look and vibe reminds me a little of Sage Northcutt as well.

His look and vibe reminds me a little of Sage Northcutt as well. Yes! You’re right, he’s very reminiscent of Northcutt!! It will be interesting to see what else they come up with. Glad to see Oro and Rose make appearances in V as well, I’ve always liked those characters. Now a complete edition of V just needs to go on DEEP discount and I’ll finally try it! Been on a boycott of SFV, the series has been a staple for me for ages, but I’m not feeling this $200+ for a game to get all of the characters, season pass nonsense, and this is approaching DOA levels of greasiness in terms of dlc costs. The game looks very cool now versus where it was at release and is becoming more intriguing by the week!

I'm not really a fan of Luke's visual design. They definitely nailed the aesthetic of modern MMA fighters, though - I just don't really like that look.

Like the moves of the new SF character.
I don't even mind the design too much but the nose bandage/strip just looks so dumb to me. Yeah, pretty sure we can tell he's a fighter without that bit of distraction.
I don't know why something so cartoonist on a cartoon character bugs me so much but hey, we all have irrational bits about us from time to time 😋

LOL exactly why I don't really dig the design much either. I'm not a fan of the modern MMA vibe either. That being said, I do like the moveset itself and the character potential. I just think the appearance is lazy because it just seems so borrowed from modern MMA rather than being a Street Fighter version of it. Plus, I'm salty cause I wanted Abel in SF5 and instead we get Dana White's version of Chris Masters 😁 I agree with Marsh about that nose strip too - it's literally "on the nose" that he "wants to be a f'n fighter" 😂 Also, like Bak, I really would like to see the "complete" SF5 priced competitively sometime soon.

I've heard really bad things about Samurai Shodown's online play experience. Bad enough that it scared me off from buying it. Can anyone here comment on that?

It's a very fun single player game but I can't comment on online since I don't pay for PSN.
I think Nth may be the only one to have played it online here.

I have, but like any fighting game I've ever played online, I can play ten matches with zero lag and then the next five might be completely unplayable, then back to perfect again. I know any lag problems aren't likely on my end anymore since I have a fiber-op connection now. So I can't really say it's any better or worse than any other fighting game I play online when I tend to get the same results for most of them.

Netplay is one reason I really do encourage people to play Guilty Gear Strive. The netcode on that sucker is freaking magic and I almost never have laggy matches unless I run into some dipass playing on wifi. (Seriously folks please do not play fighting games on wifi)

I don't. That's 30% of the reason I don't do online anything but it still feels like a personal attack when people talk shit about wifi. Then again, the other 70% is because people suck and say awful shit when they don't have to deal with you face to face so as much as I'd be otherwise willing, I'm better off without that aggravation.

I cannot emphasize enough that it's not a personal attack, but playing any fighting game against someone who is on wifi is always a negative, frustrating experience. The wifi player won't notice the problem either, which creates an impression on their side that everything is okay while the opponent is stuck in a miserable stuttery hell.
