I’ve dusted off Tekken 7 again, this game is sooo nice. I would trade a thousand Anna Williams, Julias, and (shudder) Negans for ONE Baek Doo San and ONE Kunimitsu (and also for characters to be UNLOCKABLE and not expensive dlc.)!

He was the shit. I never played Tekken too much, but he was cool.

YES! He looks awesome!! I took a break from Samurai Shodown but need to get back into it with Kazuki's release! I wasn't familiar with Kazuki but I can tell I'm going to love him based on the battou-jutsu style stance 😎 He actually reminds me more of Shishio from Kenshin since he augments his sword techniques with fire, while his brother augments his techniques with water.
I see it even more now. He's definitely more Shishio than Kenshin, despite the stance. :20 - :22 shows his anti-air special which is VERY much like Shishio's Guren Kaina which is when he uses the fire from his sword to ignite the gunpowder he hides in his gloves. And the first few frames of his ultimate move (:26-27) that have fire swirling around him are a little similar to Shishio's Kaguzuchi secret sword 🔥⚔

On the one hand, I'm laughing to myself because I think I remember Capcom saying something along the lines of "no, we aren't going to make umpteen versions of SFV like we did with the other SF games, really!" yet here we are on what, I think the third version? (regular, arcade, and now champion)
On the other hand.....Gill. Even if hes not playable, Gill is one of my favorite fighting game bosses ever and it's neat to see him officially return after 20 years. Granted, the entire premise of V's "story mode" builds up to him so it's no surprise really but seeing is believing and now I've seen and am looking forward to see how this plays out,

Street Fighter has always been a gaming staple for me, but this esports, subscription season bullshit was the last straw for me. This latest version of SFV looks cool, but how long till SFV ultimate super championship turbo directors cut drops? Put all the dudes in Day one, make some characters UNLOCKABLE, and quit gouging fans with dlc characters who have been on the main roster sine day one and silly, dolly dress up alternate costumes.
But Gill though... 🤤

Sadly, I just haven't played SF5 that much to justify the new release upgrade cost. When it first came out, I only had a laptop that wouldn't run it. So I missed most of the hype. Even though I played it a few times at a friend's place and really enjoyed it, it's pretty much the only SF game I never truly felt a part of. I eventually got it on PS4 but was more into KOF 14 cause KOF is my fave fighting game series now. Ironically, I probably like SF5 far more than SF4 but just didn't have the right timing with SF5 to get into it enough.
I'll eventually upgrade to SF5 Champion Edition (provided Turbo doesn't come out first! 😁 ) but I don't really expect to log enough playtime to make the full upgrade cost worth it. I'll wait for the price to drop.
I'm still patiently awaiting with hope that one day we'll see Capcom vs. SNK 3 with Gill and Orochi as the bosses.

Then about a year later, Ultra Street Fighter 4 came out.

They should have scheduled it for February 29th with Saitama taking credit for the leap year day 😁
Excited that it will be out relatively soon! 🤜
