Samurai Shodown opening week sales equal to Street Fighter V's opening week sales in Japan. SNK was expecting a positive reaction at release, but were not expecting to run out of physical copies opening week.

That's awesome news.
Hopefully it also sells well internationally.

That looks really fun and they did a deep dive into the Season 1 enemy list!
The gameplay looks like a good mix of action and traditional 1 on 1 fighting.

I haven’t got a clue who those characters are but they look awesome. My god, that has to be the prettiest fighting game ever made, it’s gorgeous and watching a match is like watching an episode of the show! What an incredible fan service!

That's great news about SC6. I knew Cassandra would be the last S1 DLC character but it's still somewhat disappointing that I might have to wait on the only missing character that I really wanted to see again, Setsuka. I'm just hoping that they don't dick around and not include her and that amazing fighting style. Namco was COMPLETELY dark on SCVI news and info all summer so this is a nice way to end things, with a new character coming tomorrow and tweaks to the fighting engine coming sometime in the next year. It is interesting though that all S1 DLC was female (Tira, 2B, Amy, Cassandra). That's probably a first for a fighting game. I don't really care who's in S2, as long as Setsuka's included. I guess Haohmaru is kind of a cool addition. Speaking of SamSho, that's great news about about the new freebie character AND a forthcoming season 2. Seems to be a great sign that the game is doing as well or better than expected, which is awesome considering how niche it is within the already niche genre of fighters. Edit: in reeling from my concern about never seeing one of my favorite SC characters again, I really downplayed how friggin AWESOME it is that SC and SamSho are crossing over. Although they're set about 200 years apart canonically, it's still something that I've always wanted to see happen given that they're the best represented weapon fighters of their particular game styles (3D and 2D, respectively).
Haohmaru isn't my favorite SamSho character but he's as iconic to that franchise as Siegfried is to SC so it pretty much HAD to be him and I'm not even bothered by it. As far as guest characters THAT ACTUALLY MAKE SENSE FOR THE SERIES THEY'RE CROSSING OVER INTO, they couldn't have chosen a singularly better character imo.
And KOF XV?
Holy hell what a day for fighting game news!

I think this is SNK's first official confirmation of KOF XV, right? I kind of remember them alluding to it, or the possibility of it, a few months ago. But I'll certainly very happily take the confirmation! Looking forward to hearing more about this. I don't really know if there's room to build off the story from XIV, which was interesting but presented in a very minimal way. But most of all I just hope we don't lose too many of the awesome character roster we had in XIV. The defaults plus the DLC characters made up my favorite KOF roster since 2002: UM. I want that PLUS more rather than a totally new roster made from scratch like XII which I pretty much hated for how bare bones everything was.

t is interesting though that all S1 DLC was female (Tira, 2B, Amy, Cassandra).
More interesting considering a female journalist asked the lead dev why there seemed to be so few of female fighters when they were still revealing and he just straight fucking ignored the question. If they listen to fans, Setsuka will 100% be one of those S2 releases, the other potentially being Hwang or Yun-Seong.

I honestly cared more that Haohmaru would be a guest character in Soulcalibur VI. Cassandra was obviously going to join. Either way, it's about high time I pick up SCVI, patiently waiting for who the other three will be. I'm a little miffed that Mina was the top one Dengeki would want to win the poll (she's intentionally supposed to be the polar opposite of Nakoruru, from hometown to appearance to playstyle) but not surprised. Still, it's gonna be interesting to see her make the jump, too. I'm holding on for Neinhalt, Gen-An and the ultimate longshot, Shippu no Reon from the RPG. On the Tekken and ArcSys fronts: - Zafina from Tekken 6 will be returning as a Season 3 DLC character along with a new character, Leroy Smith, who looks like what if a blaxpoitation protagonist was around today: A new Guilty Gear will be coming in 2020, and interestingly enough, also has a cool black dude in dreads as a newcomer: Maximillian had a brief chat with Tekken's Harada at, and hinted the two are distant relatives. Sounds really cool, but keep it with a grain of salt. BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle has a Ver. 2.0 trailer, with 4 of 9 new characters entering and two new franchises. Akatsuki and Politank from Akatsuki Blitzkampf, Yumi from Senran Kagura and Neo Politan from RWBY will be arriving: Another updated version of Under Night In-Birth, Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[cl-r], adds one new character, Londrekia, and is set to drop in 2020:
