On another note, has anybody watched "The Last Dance" docu-series about the Chicago Bulls' last NBA Championship season?
If you are/were a fan of Michael Jordan and those amazing Bulls teams from the 90s, then I highly recommend it.
Even if you aren't a fan or have never seen WHY people make such a big deal about Jordan, this is the series for you to learn.

I've been hearing about it on and off but haven't yet made time to check it out.
I know I'll love it when I watch it. ESPN did some really good 90's team retrospectives a few years ago (like the Hornets) and this sounds like a super concentrated version of that.
I loved that Bulls team but I rooted for the Jazz so hard to win at least one of those Titles. Stockton remains my favorite player of all time (an understated Ric Flair 😁) and I wanted him to finally win a Title with Malone. That last shot in the second series was punishing but it was also the definition of MJ Clutch 😎
It was so weird when like 15 years later, Nash/Stoudamire and the Suns had to deal with Kobe and the Lakers with a similar dynamic as Stockton/Malone vs. MJ and the Bulls, just in the Western Conference Finals.

It's actually not focused on the last season. It covers all of Jordans career and has given the life stories of pippen, rodman, and coach Jackson so far. I have been enjoying it so far. It's at least very interesting and entertaining.

As a life long Chicagoan who lived this era, it’s like crack.

Clevelish fact of the day
Since 1999, the Cleveland Browns have drafted 24 wide receivers
Yesterday, Rashard Higgins became the first one of those draftees to be re-signed by the team

RIP Don Shula
If the church of football existed, he'd be an Apostle.
He's one of two coaches in NFL history with more than 300 career wins and he just so happens to have a few more than the other one (*some guy named Halas). That record might never be broken (though a certain NE COACH will give it the old college try).
*bit of a personal joke since he's like the football god to my Chicagoan mother and still one of the most revered figures the game has ever known

So yeah, outside of being the National Day for Canada, Somalia, and Rwanda, July 1 (or 1 July) is ALSO Bobby Bonilla Day!
In case you're not a longtime fan of Major League Baseball or have just never heard of this, Bobby Bonilla Day marks the day of the year that the New York Mets pay former outfielder Bobby Bonilla $1.19 million USD.....every year.....until 2035. This came about after the Mets released an underperforming (by his expectation; he was a star in through most of the 90s) Bonilla in the year 2000. The Mets still owed him $5.9m when he was released but since that was considered a pretty good chunk of change for a baseball player at the time, especially one that isn't actually on your team anymore, Bonilla and his agent offered the Mets a deal wherein the $5.9m sum was deferred for an entire decade (and with a healthy 8% interest) after which it would be paid annually until nothing else was owed, effective in 2011. After a decade of interest, the total owed to Bonilla was $29.8m. Thus on every July 1 since 2011, the New York Mets have paid Bobby Bonilla an annual sum of $1,193,248.20!
Definitely one of the more unusual contract negotiations in MLB history lol
