Does the damage carry over match to match in this version of the tournaments?

Yes. Which made finals of my much hyped Trios tournament end in like 15 seconds. :)

I've not ran many tournaments but have always noticed that the finals are always lackluster compared to the early matches and now it makes sense.
I know the 2/3 falls options are pretty underwhelming since damage carries over and the subsequent falls barely last minutes. It's a weird realism/game balance where I wish it favored more the idea of being more like a game than simulating realism with tiredness.
For us console users I wonder if a toggle could be patched to let us turn off "damage carrying over" between tournament rounds / falls as a setting?

I had a big 3 day event with all the brackets set up. And it ended on day 3 with a 2 minute dud. To make matters worse, the team that won coasted all the way through the brackets with short easy wins. The losing team had very long fights to the bitter end with multiple limb injuries each in every match.

Just run a tournament in exhibition mode and use Challonge to manage the tournament. Then you don't have to worry about damage carry over.

I don't know if any of you use mods or if this mod is still there, but there (at least was) a mod to edit how much damage carries over in tournaments, if any.

I prefer the console version, my one and only issue with the mods is because of the age of my system, there is a semi-regular half-second pause that happens. It's a total bummer because the only mod I really want is the one that allows you to control a wrestler mid-match with the L1. That is PRICELESS!!! I would be so happy if the Ps4 had an equivalent to take control mid-match.
Back in the day the game actually did have a setting to toggle for one-night tourney and not. But yeah, it would be nice to have it back. The animations are lame but they are amusing but yeah, I mean you can use a tourney app on a phone, it's the same thing. Maybe the issue is making the tourney worthwhile. I would like an overall grade given to your tourney, match quality and maybe stats. Longest, shortest, highest rated.

I don't know the exact numbers, but it's based on what you set your Recovery stat to in the vanilla game. I don't remember if there is a mod for tournament damage recovery, but there is a mod that shows health bars. I would recommend using those if you have mods enabled and test the different recovery levels to see how it affects the edits as they advance in a tournament. The thing though with running a tournament in the mode provided in the game is that the further along the tournament you get, the match quality will decrease and be shorter due to the recovery which can lead to fast finishes with big move spam and lower ratings. I kind of wish you could set the recovery for each edit as you get to each tournament match in the game because you could set up really unique circumstances in those cases. I agree with Tim and say to just use a bracket site like Challonge and run the matches individually.
