Not really. Imagine if a basketball player just said 'fuck it' and walked off court during a game. Esports expects the same (if not more) etiquette as actual sports.

I'm going to lower my mask at the next person that calls this a hoax.

One thing on family feud,
When a family says “good answer! Good answer!” When it was clearly the WORST f$&king answer in the history of all answers.
But this was one of the BEST answers of all time! 🙂

Data for out here isn't as cohesive as I'd like. Similarly the running joke is that the group's tendency to wait and see might actually be useful this time, especially if there's some early "oh shit" moments from some of the bigger counterparts.

Having some really slow shifts the last couple weeks. Most of the machines in our shop are only able to run a few hours at a time because we have a lack of product to build with. They've actually been good about giving people the option to leave early. Had another run in with my old workplace 'problem' last week. Only one machine running, but they were only sending people home three at a time two hours apart. So we had quite a group of us all standing around the one working machine doing any loads as needed. Our shop has that new shirt tuck in policy now and often as I work my shirt tends to come partially untucked. At least I am tucking my shirt in because there are still people in the shop who don't tuck in at all. So we're all standing around talking and the old shop manager comes walking passed us down on the walkway. Didn't think anything about it. He's not our shop supervisor anymore, technically not even supposed to be on the shop floor since he was transferred out of his last shop when the entire crew working under him had a mutiny against him for his behavior. He sees my shirt partially untucked and yells at me in front of everyone 'Tuck your shirt in, I don't want to have to tell you again.' Pretty odd that he singled me out when a group of us are standing there including two guys who don't have their shirts tucked in at all. Well, I don't appreciate that tone. If you have to tell me again, how about we go out to the parking lot and you tell me again there? I think what infuriated him was that I just shrugged and turned back to the people I was talking to and haphazardly stuffed my shirt into my waistband. Anyway, I get the word that I will be able to leave early in the next batch. I had intended to stay the full shift but if numbnuts is going to be skulking around the shop harassing me again I am just going to go home. Next shift I hear he was looking for me after I had already left. I got told he was in the office having a very heated exchange with our line leaders. I absolutely figured he was trying to have one of them write me up for my shirt infraction. He's technically not allowed to write anyone up anymore and he's technically supposed to be sending out the line leaders to 'coach' us on any infractions as opposed to yelling at someone from across the shop floor. Well my current line leader apparently knows about a lot of the harassing and bullying behavior I experienced at the hands of this guy, although I don't know how as I never mentioned a word of it to him. But on my first performance review with him he told me 'I don't agree with anything he wrote in your file, you're doing fine, we appreciate it, keep up the good work.' FIVE MINUTES. A five minute performance review. My performance reviews with asshole were anywhere from 20 to 30 minutes where he dissected every little thing I did and why it wasn't good enough. I'm not even worried about possibly being written up. Perfect attendance and perfect conduct in the shop. Line leader said he's never had a single issue or complaint about me. I even joked if I get written up I could probably get myself some stress leave if I went to human resources. Company perks right up when they hear rumors of that. Already shorthanded they're terrified of losing a worker for any period of time right now, especially since they've laid off all the non-essential workers already. Then I hear the rumor that he wasn't trying to get me written up, he was being told he had to come and apologize to me for unprofessional conduct. It's entirely possible someone who witnessed the event may have shot off a text message to the line leader about what had happened as it's general knowledge in the shop that he had me singled out for years when I first started. Apparently management addressing a subordinate in a demeaning manner in front of the entire crew is grounds for an actionable complaint if filed with human resources. Being that he already has an established and verifiable pattern of harassing behavior toward me, it's likely he's now looking to cover his ass. I expect when I go back into work Wednesday he is going to come and find me and either complain about my shirt or offer a reluctant non-apology or my line leader is going to come and find me and ask me about it, in which case I may let on I'm a little more perturbed about the incident than I am. Basically I think he was just stressed about the plant in the current state of the covid stuff and I just happened to be the stray dog that came across his path he could kick. We actually got off at 3am last night shift, but they were letting people go home as early as 11pm. I only chose to stay to get my name bumped back up on the go home list, as leaving early opportunities are decided by a list. Once you leave early your name goes to the bottom of the list and anyone who stays gets moved up the list to be offered to go home early first the next time. Personally I am hoping for a go home early Thursday since I have Friday, Saturday and Sunday off and now I'm at the top of the list.
Well shit head may have buried himself at work. Had another tantrum, but this time not at me. This time he had a tantrum at Jeremy, the same guy who months ago immediately called for our line leader on the public PA system in the plant the last time the idiot came up on the machine and gave us shit.
Any scrap product we have left over has to get labelled and put on respective pallets. Every layer has to have one piece of scrap identified. Why? I don't know to this day. Every pallet is labelled. So one of numb-nuts jobs, or he thinks its his job is to walk around the shop at the start of every shift and see that they're labelled on all the machines.
In many cases they are not. But, it's not our fault, it's usually from the night shift who didn't label their stuff. When he does his morning rounds we aren't even building yet so obviously have not done any scrap. So he would see unlabelled scrap and bitch at whoever was on the machine. We'd try and explain to him for the millionth time it was the night shift's unlabelled stuff, but like I said he's the guy who will always interrupt a reasonable and logical explanation with 'no excuses.'
So he's doing his rounds on all the machines and he's not seeing one of the scrap layers labelled on Jeremy's machine. Immediately starts to throw a tantrum about it. Jesus fucking christ, all he has to do is walk over and let the guys know they need a scrap label instead of acting like a fucking baby and throwing a tantrum. So he goes on a tirade on Jeremy and Jeremy is really good about letting assholes bury themselves so he doesn't do anything volatile because I know he's going right to human resources again after this.
Turns out, the scrap was labelled, the piece was just flipped label side down. So Jeremy walks after him and lets him know the pallet was labelled, it was just upside down. He yells at Jeremy, "Don't you have work to be doing?" and points back at Jeremy's machine. Jeremy says he just wanted to let him know that the scrap was labelled and he responds "Get away from me you little idiot." Jeremy is a tiny guy. Everyone at the machine stops.
Uh Oh. A personal attack on a subordinate in front of at least three witnesses. Jeremy tells him, "You and I will be having a conversation in the HR office." and with that heads right out to HR and is gone for a good half an hour.
When he comes back he said not only did he explain the whole thing about what happened just now, but that this is a recurring pattern of behavior with him. Not only that he brought my name up to HR as it's pretty well known in the shop all the stuff he has done to me over the years. So he says, I didn't really mean to get you involved, but now HR says they might be coming to have a talk with you about him. I told him not to worry about it, if they want my story of dealing with him and all the problems it caused me, I'd be happy to share. Including why I didn't go to HR back when it was all happening. Because I was 'advised' that he would retaliate against me and I was still a flex worker who could be fired at the drop of a hat. The fact he has been hauled out to HR dozens of times over the years for his behavior and they still haven't dealt with him also tells me it would have been futile. They would just move him to another shop. The only reason he is back in our shop is because the last shop he was transferred to got together and collectively mutinied against him.
Well this time the cat with a million lives may have used up his last one. We have basically all the top guys in the plant, including the plant manager himself having a huddle out in the cafeteria about him.
The next shift he comes in we intentionally didn't label our scrap for his morning tour. He looks like a whipped dog and comes up on my machine and let's me know our scrap is not labelled and if I could 'please' label it. Sure, not a problem I tell him. Was that so hard? No tantrum needed. Although to be honest we are hoping he flips out again over something. His teeth have been cut and no one in the shop is walking on eggshells around him anymore. If anything they are encouraging another incident.
He must be in real shit if he's kowtowed to the point of have having to use please and thank you now.
HR hasn't come out to talk to me yet, but dick head went around asking witnesses if they really heard him call Jeremy a little idiot. One guy who wants to stay neutral said he wasn't sure what he heard, but the two others told him right to his face they heard it and that's exactly what they would tell HR as they conducted their investigation which I am told is still ongoing. The guy has 37 years in. He could retire tomorrow with a full pension if he wanted. Why doesn't he? He likes to hold power over people and he has a do nothing job. It seems the only thing you ever hear of him doing is harassing someone.
EDIT: But on the bright side, my convenience store finally got my brand of cigars back in stock after almost six months of not being able to get them and I now have Final Fantasy VII Remake installed on my PS4 and ready to go.

Love these stories, you have a way of eloquently detailing the frustrations of working in manufacturing labor. And it matters not how small the team or how large the plant, there's always some authoritarian jackwagon who gets his rocks off making the people around him as miserable as humanly possible in the name of the company. In your case, however, it sounds like your nemesis has finally cashed his own ticket. Can't wait to see what happens next in that particular saga, and hoping that he gets booted out of there for good. May all petty tyrants suffer the same fate.

About five years ago he was off being treated for prostate cancer. The plant literally celebrated. Do you know how much of an asshole you have to be for people to celebrate your cancer diagnosis. We honestly thought he would take his retirement and be done back then. But he went into remission and came back to work months later.
Our plant did have an incident with a long term employee who was so problematic people who were told they had to work on a machine with him threatened to take legal action. The last time he was hauled into HR he was months away from having this thirty years. He was told after he had his thirty years, he was going to be retired. Not optional. He had to take his retirement or they would fire him because he was so much of a problem. I'm thinking this scenario could happen again.

More rumors in the next town. And while quite a bit further out, somebody connected to family that works in health-related stuff although I haven't heard any updates lately.

Could someone explain credit to me? Because I don't get how paying off a car loan can lower my score by 30 points.

Work confirmed last night while we're not getting a shutdown just yet, all Sunday and Monday day and night shifts are cancelled until June. I'm not really bitching about it because the company is covering 85% of our wages for all those missed shifts. Not out of the goodness of their heart, but likely they got a relief fund from the Canadian government, otherwise they wouldn't do it.
It actually means a pretty relaxing spring for me and no three shift in a row blocks at least until June. I imagine there will still be plenty of go home early shifts between then as well. Last night they were letting people leave at midnight, but since we were shutting down at 3am anyway most people stayed.
But I will bitch about the weather. Drove home in sleet last night and today it was warm and sunny, but snowing. And since the spring began the wind has not stopped howling. I like to smoke a cigar when I'm out doing my walks, but the wind is smoking most of it for me. I'll let the rest of this week run out before I make my appointment to get my winter tires off.

Today's messages were pretty much "be ready to be ready" We shall see what goes on overall plus the immediate area particularly with the main site.
Due to work I've reacquainted myself with a lot of people and met a lot more. As it is we lost a couple regulars due to cancer. There was a pneumonia one from February or so that also now raises eyebrows. Anyway, more than likely it's going to hit in a "damn, they used to come every week" or "they are OK but not traveling much for a while."

Heard two different possible dates, the latter of which seems more likely. There was some interesting if sobering discussion on what the next step would be if things keep on for quite a while.
But other more personal matters hit harder today.
The first I pretty much already knew but seeing more evidence of it dug up a lot of old feelings.
The second just seems odd that between work and her staying at her grandmother's that we didn't cross paths.
