Worst we got was power knocked out and some trees knocked down. PS4 also took some unscheduled shutdowns during the storm while I was rebuilding the database, so I'm not sure what mood it and the external HD will be in when the power comes on. Planned on buying a Pro with an updated SKU this fall anyway.
EDIT: And our power literally just came back.

Just took a test for another job I'm fairly certain I'm not going to get. Gotta love that feeling. Better than being stuck in the old one, though. I'd rather drink a jug of sulfuric acid before I go back to do any more menial labor.

Why do businesses claim to have “customer service” departments when what they really are is “we already have your money so we will throw undertrained, underpaid people with poor communication skills at you in the hopes of you either caving and going with our shitty service or getting so angry you fuck off all together” departments? Just wondering.
If you want to buy an item or add a service, someone is available instantly, if you have an issue, you can expect longer than typical wait times.
Also, f Home Depot. 🙂

They just had to chime in on what was already a "so much for a coordinated response" situation. What was said is in and of itself to raise eyebrows especially in light of the past month. But that they basically shit on somebody that's supposed to be their friend in doing so is just an extra "what the hell is wrong with you?"

Between my work doppelganger and somebody allegedly named after me it was a bit of "uh, are you sure they called for _____?" tonight.
Everything else is mixed. Another opportunity has been brought up, I suppose technically my skillset fits that better but I expect that to be even more of a battle and I don't know who else might be gunning for the same spot. Plus I'm sure there will be questions about how I'd handle certain team members and/or customers.

Some stuff which I should be happy about being over and done with but it's just kind of there right now.
Similarly I have the feeling one way or another in November I'll be doing a lot more. Probably for the wrong reasons at that.
With some other stuff going in in the area as a whole we might get some familiar faces either joining or returning. On the other hand a few seem content to stick out the current situation when I'd rather they be at my side (and not just professionally in at least one case.)

Well, it is November tomorrow, so...
There's three that probably crossed the line, although the third is more that they may drag some other people because they didn't handle it when they could have.
At the same time I started a process that very well might give me the means to handle this personally.

I feel for you. I lucked out and am off this weekend so I missed out on it, although I am the #2 on call Sunday night. I'm so unimpressed with how my company abuses its call in system, if they do call me in I tend to take about two hours getting there now.
