I have noticed that since Steam patch 2.07.4 was released, it takes significantly longer to download all of the edits I've grabbed from the workshop. The background images at the start screen slow down dramatically. It then takes over an hour to download 9900 edits. Previously, it would take about 5 minutes. I'm running Fire Pro World off an SSD drive.
All of the other menus and in-game action is at normal speed.
Is anyone else having this issue?
Please help me resolve this issue as it deeply cuts into the amount of time I can play Fire Pro World in one sitting.
Thank you!

Is there any chance your Steam downloads of the subscribed workshop items are being interrupted? I've had long hangs at the title screen where it turned out it couldn't download the subscribed edit because Steam was downloading an automatic update for another game and those fire pro workshop items were behind it in the queue.

Having that many downloads will mess with loading times too, might be time to purge some of those edits.

Fire Pro World is the only Steam game I own. I have a feeling the latest patch is behind the slowdown issue.

Caching will probably help significantly if you havent tried that already, but honestly with 10k downloads the game is gonna start getting unstable...

Caching will probably help significantly if you havent tried that already, but honestly with 10k downloads the game is gonna start getting unstable... Is there a way to batch delete edits? I am sure I could uninstall at least 5000 wrestlers. When Fire Pro World was released in July of 2017, I was amazed by the sheer amount of content available in the Workshop. As a fan of the series since "G" was released in 1999, I went nuts and grabbed every edit I found remotely interesting. These days, I stick with edits from 5 well known editors and am not opposed to streamlining my roster. I do have all of my edits separated into (primarily) stables named after each editor. I do have edits from Avenger and DJKM77 separated into promotions with stables. Any guidance would be appreciated. Thank you!

I too feel that the loading time at the start of my game has slowed considerably. I have 3825 downloads. It isn't taking forever, but much longer than it had taken previously.

Unfortunately, the 2.07.6 patch didn't resolve my issue. Does anyone know how to fix this? Please don't force me to play the second rate PS4 port of Fire Pro World! ROTFLMAO!
Thank you!

I'm afraid you might be waiting on a fix that never comes, because with all due respect, the problem is primarily on your end with trying to maintain a roster of nearly 10,000 edits. Imagine if Mortal Kombat shipped with 10,000 characters; it'd probably take a good while to load too.
And you mentioned switching to PS4; you do realize PS4 users can only have a MAXIMUM of 1000 edits, right? So there's your answer to the problem right there: you need to limit the number of edits you're trying to use, simple as that.

Your probable best bet is to turn off cloud support. Delete your save file. Go to your subscriptions and make sure you're only subscribed to the ones you want and then launch the game again.

If you're going to try and keep that many edits, you really should cache them, that will help with the loading times (though the cache process is going to take a good long while the first time through because, again, 10K edits is a lot).

The reason this came about suddenly was because you subscribed to an edit that was bugged, and it’s causing issues where it feels the need to constantly check for updates.
That update bar only appears one an edit is updated. It should not happen every time you launch and you stated this just happened suddenly though I agree that 10k edits is quite a lot.

That update bar has always come up at start for me. Is that not normal?! The downloading bar. I assumed it was just going through and checking for updates before each launch.

Yeah I see it everytime too. I also thought it was just checking for updates. It flies through unless something was updated then it takes a second on that number moves and if I just subscribed to more things it goes slow at the end. I know when I booted up my game at a school I was working at with slow internet any updates took forever but that was do to the band internet trying to download updates.
