Very, very excited about this new DLC!! Really looking forward to a less conventional story mode than what we got with the NJPW one. This is a VERY long awaited sequel to that original story by Suda. Really cool that they are doing this! Was the ending of the original considered to be 100% set in stone or was there some ambiguity about what happened? I wonder if this new mode will retroactively clarify or change things from the original.

Really cool that they are doing this! Was the ending of the original considered to be 100% set in stone or was there some ambiguity about what happened? I wonder if this new mode will retroactively clarify or change things from the original. A few years back, Suda outright said he was inspired by Kurt Cobain's suicide when writing the ending of Special, and also said that, though it wasn't explicitly said in the game, Saeba's sister Reiko was pregnant with Morio Smith's son. That's about as clear-cut as it gets. It also makes it sound to me like this probably isn't going to be the happiest story, seeing as it'll be history repeating itself...

LOL right after I posted, I saw your new thread where you summarized everything and clarified it! Thanks for posting that, I get the background now. Definitely a must read. My guess is that history will repeat itself until the end. I can't see the same ending happening twice. I think Morio's son will choose a different path but at first seem to be on the same one. I hope his path is interpretive dance and we have God of War style quicktime events trying to simulate his motions.

- They want to get Fire Pro Special on Steam. That would be amazing! A translated version I played it a couple of years back & have no idea what was going on, I knew I buddied up with Rick Rude, took half of his moveset & travelled the World. Then I got stuck on the Bulldogs tag match

OK, so, The Vanishing is the team of The Blade Saeba and Notorious according to that tweet.

This is the one thing that could make me actually PLAY Fire Pro again. The ONE thing? Where's the thumbs down button when you need it? :P

I think that by now the Senator has done just about every 1P maniac challenge under the sun I played it a couple of years back & have no idea what was going on, I knew I buddied up with Rick Rude, took half of his moveset & travelled the World. Then I got stuck on the Bulldogs tag match I hope you took Rick Rude's cool tights designs too, LOL 😀 OK, so, The Vanishing is the team of The Blade Saeba and Notorious according to that tweet. Were they characters from the original mode or have names that were similar to those characters?

Saeba's last name uses the same kanji as Morio's friend/rival, Akira Saeba's. So that's either Akira's son, or possibly the main character...

Ahh, cool, thanks. Very interesting there to have a direct name relation between the two stories.

Probably the main character since it’s the son of Saeba’s Sister. So he would still have the Saeba name.

Wow, that's really cool. The pixel art cutscenes sound like a good idea too. Looking forward to it.

Sooo.....it's late March, and we're ready to get hyped about Suda51's upcoming Fire Pro project... in an "HD" Fire Pro game with infinite edit slots, online edit sharing, however many other features that I don't remember that we didn't have ten years ago....
Maybe SB was actually a time traveler who just had the year wrong....[I'm on mobile and don't have access to emojis, so imagine an ironically amused one.]
(I'm not as cynical as I sound about this, but the level of criticaled-by-irony that I am right now is real and had to be expressed.)

Yeah, the irony of Sonny's joke turning out to be real in 2019 is not lost on me, haha.
