So is No Man's Sky now the game that they implied it was going to be before launch?
I know that its launch......wasn't good but between the massive update last year(?) and this newer one, it "seems" like they've really worked to make it as good as initially advertised, if not even better.

It's a completely different game now than it was at launch. The game has actually been overhauled nearly a half dozen times with free patches over the last two years adding a lot of content and plenty of new things to do.

Twenty five years ago today, December third (in Japan) these clowns showed up to challenge the big dogs Sega and Nintendo with their little grey box... This recap of events by Giant Bomb is kind of cool as well, the PlayStation as we know it might never have happened had Nintendo played nice! www.giantbomb.com/playstation/3045-22/

To this day that start up sound has been the only console start up sound to ever give me chills, every single time. Immediately makes me flash back to my starting line up of PS1 games. FFVII, Bushido Blade, Soul Blade and Resident Evil Director's Cut. It also helped that the PS was the first console I bought with my own money and wasn't forced to share between two other brothers. I remember the days of timed 1 hour play sessions that we would have to rotate turns all through the Nintendo years. Years of fighting and bickering for play time replaced with that sweet soothing start up sound, alone in my bedroom. At the time both brothers were completely anti Sony so had no interest in bugging me to play the system either... until they started watching me play Resident Evil and FFVII; then suddenly Sony didn't seem so evil anymore and that shine on the stagnating N64 library wasn't looking so polished.
In other news, Resident Evil 3 Remake has been leaked as well as possible new upcoming DLC for Resident Evil 2 Remake.

Cool story, I never had timed play sessions (that would be frustrating as a kid!), but I didn’t have anyone to share with or a console to share until, like you, I got a PS1 on my own! I also love the boot screen sound for the PS1, hence the YouTube clip! Yeah, hearing that while anticipating busting into metal gear, tekken 2/3, Tenchu, or any of the other great games from back then was great!
I’ve almost started a thread about favourite boot screens/jingles on multiple occasions to see if others enjoyed them as much as I did, PS1 was always a favourite, but the Dreamcast and the GameCube are up there (the OG Xbox was pretty cool, too! Apparently that intro plays on the little OLED screen on the newish throwback Duke controller for Xbox one at startup!), too! It feels like the boot screen/jingle are not even a consideration now, and they were always such a fun part of the gaming ritual!

The Genesis BIOS bootup may be downright plain by comparison but the phrase "produced by or under license from Sega Enterprises Ltd." is burned into my brain all the same. Also, dat Neo Geo sound.

Oh man that Neo Geo sound really takes me back. That and the Playstation 1 boot up sound are two of my all time favorites.

I also get really nostalgic for the old Capcom and Konami sounds from the SNES days.
