Well, the Sapporo Dome leg of the spring ZIP JAPAN Tour is in the books officially. If you missed the show, it is archived here: www.twitch.tv/videos/385121947Some huge results coming out of tonight's show so let's get straight to it: ZIP JAPAN Showdown in Sapporo Results (Friday Feb 22, 2019): - Rebecca Roxx vs Vicki Violence This was a pretty sick opener, with Vicki Violence opening a whole case of whoop ass on poor Rebecca. Vicki hit her Avalanche Urunage -> Sliding V and Spear -> King Kong Knee Drop prios, and just in case anyone forgot that Roxx suffered a broken neck last year, Vicki smashed her head in with back to back Package piledrivers. Ugly. - Danger Daniels vs ECKO ECKO struggled to get much going against his stronger and younger opponent tonight. There was a great spot where Daniels hit a diving lariat, which ECKO no sold and laugh taunted right after, so Daniels hit another diving lariat immediately and got a great 2.9 out of it. Good stuff. ECKO got his licks in, getting nearfalls from a bridging German and a Tombstone, but in the end, Daniels' leg work proved decisive and he locked on a tight heel hook for the deserved victory. - Nails n Grinds (Jimmy Nails/Mickey Grinds) vs Pure HEEL (Kenji Sawada/Kenzo Kobayashi) These two teams went to war here, and Nails n Grinds reminded everyone that they are the premier technicians of the tag team division. This was total destruction with both teams nailing double team moves and specials galore, but no one could come up with a decisive moment. That is, until Mickey Grinds flattened Kobayashi with a ruthless looking Emerald Flowsion. Joshi Elimination Fatal 4 way - Hanako Yoshii vs Yumi Yamaguchi vs Aya Mizuno vs Psycho Witch Aya Mizuno absolutely not fucking around in this match. Everyone got in lots of good spots, but Mizuno was on another level, laying into her opponents with vicious attacks. The match was pretty chaotic and clustery for 19 minutes, then Aya completely took over. After eliminating Psycho Witch and Yumi Yamaguchi with Germans, Aya blocked Yoshii's attempt at an avalanche armbar and turned into a spine crushing Avalanche Powerbomb. Get a spatula. - Justin Starr vs Ichiro Katagiri A very high caliber junior match that could have been a headliner on another night. Justin Starr brought his A-game but Katagiri was a half step ahead of him most of the match. Both men got plenty of nearfalls down the stretch, but in the end Ichiro's nasty Reverse Tombstone kept Starr on the mat for 3. Archive Match from 2005 - Akira Shinjo vs Kintaro A match that took place not long after Shinjo's long layoff to rehab a bicep injury, he sure looked like he hadn't missed a step in this encounter. Not only did Shinjo get an early OKITE of Kintaro's Kinniku buster, he tossed the ZIP legend around the ring like a piece of trash throughout. There was some good back and forth towards the end, but the second Sheer Drop Brainbuster won the day for Shinjo. This was the match that really made ZIP fans sit up and take interest in the former young lion Akira Shinjo, and directly led to his first main event level push. MOTN contender. - GORO vs Wataru Nakajima Fire Pro called this a double ringout draw, but fuck that. Nakajima straight up murdered GORO with a Nakajima Special CRITICAL on the arena floor, leaving the former champ in a broken heap unable to move. Rather than get back in the ring and collect an easy victory, Nakajima displayed his honorable nature by remaining at the side of his fallen opponent as he was tended to by emergency medical staff, leading to a double countout. Early indications are of a concussion injury to GORO, with some time on the sidelines an inevitability. Elimination Triple Threat to determine #1 contender for ZIP JAPAN Junior Heavyweight Championship - Johnny Rekless vs Tora Katsu vs Saburo Hamada A hilariously chaotic clusterfuck of a match, with botched spots, missed dives and a million broken up pin attempts. All three guys wanted to win the right to face Ichikawa and worked hard, but the match featured a ton of missed dives. Katsu was an absolute beast for most of this match, both taking a beating and giving it back in spades. Katsu eventually forced Hamada to tap to his Half Boston Crab, but Rekless was quicker to the punch and eliminated Katsu with a beautiful Inverted 450. This was probably MOTN for sheer entertainment value. To determine #1 contender for ZIP JAPAN Tag Team Championship - Doogan Bros (Donnie Doogan/Dougie Doogan) vs Blue Destiny (Maki Yoshida/Jin Matsuda) Another Tag team match, another brutal war in a ZIP JAPAN ring. Dougie was an idiot through most of it, but Donnie landed tons of power moves, while Matsuda zipped around the ring and Yoshida bashed things with his head. With all the big moves that happened in this match, the result was a surprising one, with Matsuda catching Dougie with a quick "out of nowhere" Roll Up to secure the #1 Contender's spot for Blue Destiny! ZIP JAPAN Heavyweight Championship match - Mr Suplex vs Thunder Fist (C) A relatively poor rating and a very short match, but hot damn what a showing from Mr Suplex. Despite his lengthy career, Suplex has spent a long time out of the title picture, but he turned up with a vengeance tonight. He completely stuffed all of Thunder Fist's punches and dominated the offense with more throws than you could shake a stick at. So many German suplexes that Thunder Fist didn't know which way was up. Eventually another German into a Raigaplex combo gave Mr Suplex the win and the ZIP JAPAN Heavyweight Title for only the second time in his career. ZIP JAPAN Joshi Championship match - Suki ZIP vs Cutie Booties (C) Second title match of the card, and another New Champion! Suki has been on a mission to become Joshi Champ since the Joshi Division was first announced last year and now she has completed that journey. Fittingly, she ended the match with a ZIP Driver, the move made famous by her (and Cutie Booties') father King ZIP. Time will tell if she becomes the dominant Champ she claims she deserves to be, or if Cutie will fight her way back to the top of the Joshi Division. Overall a very fun show. 4 X 100% ratings, a couple of crazy title changes, and a Nakajima CRITICAL. I'll take it :P Thanks very much to everyone who came out to the show! We'll do it again in two weeks. Full card to be posted soon, but the double main event will be Blue Destiny challenging Team Fighting Spirit for the Tag Titles and Yutaro Ichikawa defending the Junior Title against Johnny Rekless! Should be a good one.

Friday night's Eternal Conflict show was plenty of fun, thanks to everyone who came out to support ZIP JAPAN! If you missed the event, it's currently archived right here: www.twitch.tv/videos/392523900Let's get to the results (apologies for the brief writeups, time is short today): - Hanako Yoshii vs Eun-jin Choi Solid opener with Lady Armbreaker picking up the deserved victory after a hard fought match. - Nails n Grinds (Jimmy Nails/Mickey Grinds) vs Doogan Bros (Donnie Doogan/Dougie Doogan) EDIT: The image I took for this match is somehow corrupted, apologies. Fantastic tag team action, I always love seeing Jimmy Nails actually win with his Fig 4. finisher. It hilariously happened right in the Doogan's corner, but Dougie insta-tapped before Donnie could save him. Junior Elimination 6-way Dance - Minoru Hoshino vs Tora Katsu vs Danger Daniels vs Satoshi Iguchi vs Shuji Tsukamoto vs Tetsuo K Chaotic and fast paced action, with Daniels and Iguchi both looking very strong with a couple of eliminations each. This time experience and guile beat out youth and power as Iguchi pinned Daniels after a towering Avalanche Cutter. - Thunder Fist vs Mad Bomber Mad Bomber is a beast, and Thunder Fist seems to be on a disappointing slide since losing the Heavyweight Championship. A short and brutal encounter. - Yumi Yamaguchi vs Psycho Witch A fantastic match with amazing flow. Witch dominated early, Yumi made a great comeback with believable near falls, before Psycho Witch ended her night with a savage Chokeslam. Archive Match from 2008 - Great HAGE vs ECKO Young ECKO tried to show off against the legendary Great HAGE and got owned for it. ECKO attempted an Avalanche Tombstone that HAGE expertly reversed into a rollup from the top. - Justin Starr vs Takeshi Kiriyama Starr wanted to show that he was capable of taking a step up and competing against the Heavyweights in ZIP JAPAN, and he took his chance with aplomb. Starr showed off his skill and fortitude, coming back after being beaten up during the early stages and took the fight to Kiriyama, ultimately picking up a deserved victory. Elimination Triple Threat to determine #1 contender for ZIP JAPAN Joshi Championship - Cutie Booties vs Vicki Violence vs Aya Mizuno Cutie nearly pulled off her return to the top of the Joshi mountain at the first attempt, eliminating Aya after a huge Cutie Kick, but Vicki was very quick to capitalize and immediately blasted the bloodied Cutie with a Package Piledriver to become #1 contender. To determine #1 contender for ZIP JAPAN Heavyweight Championship - Demon Otsu vs Wataru Nakajima Nakajima has finally taken that crucial step, in defeating one of his long term rivals at the right moment to become #1 contender to the top prize in ZIP JAPAN for the first time in a very long time. This match had some great back and forth, with both men trading nearfalls before Nakajima went up top for his rarely seen Avalanche Waterwheel drop. Nakajima will face Mr Suplex for the ZIP JAPAN Heavyweight Championship at the next show! ZIP JAPAN Tag Team Championship match - Blue Destiny (Maki Yoshida/Jin Matsuda) vs Team Fighting Spirit (Akira Shinjo/Daisuke Shimura) (C) Blue Destiny are a great team, and they worked well together tonight, throwing an absolute ton of double team attacks the way of the champs, but in the end Team Fighting Spirit were just a step beyond them. One big Shimura Iconoclasm and it was over. Solid title defense for TFS. ZIP JAPAN Junior Heavyweight Championship match - Johnny Rekless vs Yutaro Ichikawa (C) Almost a squash. Rekless came out of the gates with a fury, seemingly out to remind everyone why he has skyrocketed to the top of the Junior Division since his debut. Ichikawa was caught off guard, and quickly succumbed to Rekless' relentless aerial assault. Johnny Rekless is now a two time Junior Heavyweight Champion! Some unexpected results there, we'll have to see what happens at the next show in a couple of weeks. Card for ZIP JAPAN Clash of Fates has been posted on the first page, hope to see you there!

Well, Clash of Fates on Friday may not have turned out in a way everyone wanted, but there were some solid matches and interesting results coming out of the event. If you missed the show it is archived here: www.twitch.tv/videos/399633581Let's get into it: ZIP JAPAN Clash of Fates (Friday Mar 22, 2019 at 8pm) - Momoe Ito vs Psycho Witch A strong opening match with Momoe displaying her aerial skills early on and earning a very creditable submission win over very tough opposition. - Tetsuo K/ECKO vs Rekless Endangerment (Johnny Rekless/Danger Daniels) Fast paced tag team action filled with dive spots and double team moves. There were some great nearfalls towards the end before the ZIP JAPAN Junior Heavyweight Champ reminded everyone of what he can do from the top rope. - Mad Bomber vs Jin Matsuda Of all the matches at this show that didn't get great ratings (ie most of them lol) this was the most deserving of a high score IMO. Jin Matsuda fought like a man possessed, using his quickness masterfully against his much bigger opponent. I really believed that Matsuda was getting close to pulling off a win until Mad Bomber smashed him to bits with a brutal triple bomb outta nowhere. - Darkness HAGE vs Saburo Hamada A solid if unspectacular match in which Darkness HAGE reminded his former student who is the master (again). The veteran HAGE absorbed the aerial assault from Hamada and laid on the Tiger Drivers and Facebusters to his young opponent. - Justin Starr vs Demon Otsu I went into this match thinking it was a potential show stealer, and by the time it ended, I was pretty sure it was going to be MOTN. Justin Starr shows his amazing resilience again, taking on a much larger and more experienced foe and prevailing. Plenty of excellent back and forth action and a great comeback win for Starr after being pummeled early on. Archive Match from 2002 - Yoji Shinichi vs Captain Insano Jr It' been a long time since a Yoji Shinichi match featured in ZIP JAPAN's archive segments, and this one did a great job of reminding fans just how good he was, even in a losing effort against Captain Insano Jr. Insano looked great in overcoming the ruthless kicks of Shinichi and winning with his signature Insano Buster. Elimination Triple Threat - Yumi Yamaguchi vs Cutie Booties vs Hanako Yoshii This was lovely stuff from all 3 ladies, with each of them having more than one opportunity to shine during their chaotic match. After more than 25 minutes, Yoshii took complete control over proceedings and got two back to back eliminations with her justifiably feared Armbar variations. To determine #1 contender for ZIP JAPAN Junior Heavyweight Championship - Yutaro Ichikawa vs Satoshi Iguchi Another match I really thought deserved a higher score, as Ichikawa battled heroically against the veteran Iguchi for a chance to regain the Junior Title he recently lost to Johnny Rekless. Iguchi stepped up his game, looking for a title shot of his own, but Ichikawa's explosive kicks kept him at bay. Eventually Yutaro caught the Cutter King with a cutter of his own, leading to the spectacular Cannonball Senton finish. To determine #1 contender for ZIP JAPAN Tag Team Championship - Nails N Grinds (Jimmy Nails/Mickey Grinds) vs Green Crush (Takeshi Kiriyama/Asano Kaneshiro) A fairly brutal outing for the babyface team of Nails N Grinds, who had been on something of a tear coming into this one. After displaying some slick team work, Jimmy Nails was powerbombed on his head and ended up a bloody mess, before Mickey Grinds was caught helpless in the center of the ring in Kiriyama's Shining Triangle submission. Green Crush are #1 contenders for the Tag Titles! ZIP JAPAN Joshi Championship match - Vicki Violence vs Suki ZIP (C) After enduring such a long wait to get her hands on the ZIP JAPAN Joshi Championship, Suki ZIP will be bitterly disappointed to have lost the title at her first defense. This excellent encounter saw Suki desperately trying to keep things as a wrestling match instead of a brawl, exhibiting some great technical skills befitting of the daughter of a legend like King ZIP. Violence survived a ZIP Driver before delivering a crushing German into the turnbuckle, before planting Suki in the middle of the ring with another bridging German Suplex. Vicki Violence is now a 2 time Joshi Champion! ZIP JAPAN Heavyweight Championship match - Wataru Nakajima vs Mr Suplex (C) Not gonna lie, this was a huge disappointment. Not only did my legit belief that Nakajima had a legit chance at winning get smashed, but it also ended up being my lowest rated main event EVER. Mr Suplex was on a mission to defeat both members of Storm of the Century in singles competition, and he did not show even a hint of compassion for Nakajima here, dropping the Patriarch on his head over and over in an almost disturbing series of vicious suplexes. Nakajima never really got out of the gates here, which as I said was disappointing, but on the upside, we've got Mr Suplex establishing himself as a champion to be feared and respected. Thanks to everyone who came out and showed some love for ZIP JAPAN, it is much appreciated as always. The next show will be the precursor to our biggest annual show. Road to WrestleQuest will take place on Friday April 5, card has been posted on the first page. And of course the biggest show of the year, WrestleQuest will take place on Friday April 19...it's fast approaching! Every title in the promotion will be defended at WrestleQuest,so you won't want to miss it!

I'm a terrible person and I have been slacking badly on doing promo work in the past few months. Let me remedy that: PROMO TIME with Tomi ZIP! *camera fades in on Tomi ZIP in semi-close up, smiling in front of a ZIP JAPAN banner.*
Tomi: <Hello, ZIP JAPAN fans! Today is once again a very special occasion, as the man I'm set to speak to is not only the current ZIP JAPAN Heavyweight Champion, he's also a man who has not given an interview in over 3 years! Please welcome the incomparable Mr Suplex!>
*the camera pulls back slightly as Mr Suplex steps in beside Tomi, wearing his ring gear and his Heavyweight Title belt around his waist. His torso is oiled, highlighting his ripped physique, and he nods at Tomi*
Tomi: <Thank you for being here today. First off, is there a reason that you have declined every opportunity to do a promo or interview for such a long time?>
Mr Suplex: (speaking quietly but clearly) <Hmm, yes. I'm a man of action, and I prefer to let my actions in the ring speak for me. I learned many things from my mentor, the great Genki Raiga, not the least of which was to speak softly and carry a big stick. I'm a journeyman who takes pleasure in plying his trade and not getting too caught up in the shenanigans and wars of words that can sometimes overshadow great wrestling. But as Champion, Reiko felt I should address the fans, so here I am.>
Tomi: <I see, well I'm sure the fans appreciate hearing from you after such a long time. If you don't mind me saying, your title win was somewhat unexpected, a relatively quick pinfall victory over former Champion Thunder Fist.>
Mr Suplex: <Heh, maybe it was unexpected to you. Thunder Fist is a very dangerous individual, but so am I. I was very pleased to win, and even more happy that I secured the title with the Genki Raiga-plex, a tribute to my mentor. I'm sure Raiga-sensei was watching from the great wrestling ring in the sky, and I hope I made him proud.>
Tomi: (nodding) <You certainly did. And this past week at Clash of Fates, you defeated the second member of Storm of the Century Wataru Nakajima. I'm sure you're aware that Nakajima is a big fan favorite, and the majority of the fans in attendance were pulling for him to defeat you.>
Mr Suplex: <Of course they were. Listen, Wataru Nakajima was already a legend when I was just a green kid breaking into this sport, and no one has more respect for Nakajima-san than me. However, there's no room for friends at the top of the mountain, and with the Heavyweight Championship on the line, I had no choice but to throw absolutely everything I had at him. I understand some fans were less than happy with the match outcome, but that win over Nakajima goes a long way to establishing my current dominance over the Division...a position I aim to hold for some time.>
Tomi: <You have the week off during the Road to WrestleQuest, although you'll be featured in an archive match, teaming with Genki Raiga against Crusher Kodo and Nakajima in a match from 2007.>
Mr Suplex: <I remember that match, it was a great one. The fans wil enjoy seeing it again, I'm sure.>
Tomi: <But at that show next Friday, your opponent for your Title defense at WrestleQuest will be determined. Justin Starr is wrestling GORO to become #1 contender. Any comments on either of your potential opponents?>
Mr Suplex: (flexing his pecs and grinning, his white teeth showing through the opening in his mask) <Nope. Best of luck boys.>
Tomi: <Hehe. Well, thanks again for the interview Mr Suplex. Until next time, this is Tomi ZIP, signing off!>
*Tomi flashes a peace sign as the camera fades to black*

Mr. Suplex is beating all my favorite guys...but I still like him.
Also, Genki Raiga obviously used to hang out with Teddy Roosevelt.
