Y'all crazy. For how barebones this mode supposedly is I'd REALLY hope the menus at least looked halfway decent. And that is a dramatic improvement over the basic-ass out-of-a-how-to-draw-manual-looking screens that were in there before. Many people care about how a things look, because they have eyes, and they have to use them to stare at a thing which is primarily menu-driven. It's probably good for the menus to not look like shit. A half-baked product that looks good is still half-baked. When people say “bare-bones”, they mean they’d like Fire Promoter to serve as a recorxkeeping tool for their promotion, that keeps title histories and records of their wrestlers, and past cards. Instead Fire Promoter is more like that computer game “Lemonade Stand”, focused on making money. *Whoopee* Right now there are promoter mods with no visuals that do everything that people want. But hey, Spike slightly improved their cartoonish pictures. Hurray!

It is fine to be frustrated with where the mode is going and its features or lack thereof but blaming a new pass at the UI/art design for a lack of features like stat-tracking is just ridiculous. That's where my issue comes from.

That's where my issue comes from. I understand where you’re coming from, and that makes sense. I don’t mean to sound critical of the improved graphics. Believe it or not, I want Spike to find success here This won’t affect me since I’m content with the Promoter tools I have, and don’f Want or need the FirePromoter money game. It’s hard to see the missteps though, because FPWW is a great concept, and I love it. But when considering the hits they’ve taken, financially and otherwise on this project, I don’t think putting the focus on graphics without those other additions will give the Promoter longevity.

But you’re right too, Will. What’s done is done. Spike can’f Chang’s the delays. They can only do their best to get the rodicf out and hope it srill sells or draws new FPWW buyers. If improved graphics is something that might rekindle interest and excitement, they shouldn’t be faulted.

It's just the indirect the message it sends, than knowing what development is being worked on truly. If a game was having game play glitches and the team sent out updates showing updated floor textures...it would send a bit of a mixed message. They didn't mean it, but it seemed like a strange thing to show getting updated.
I appreciate it but in sending one direct message, you sort of send an indirect message of what it appears they are NOT working on. It's the nature of the limited communication from the very small team: Over analyzing what messages you do get. I shouldn't do it but, we all do. Grateful for news but with so little updates we tend to over think it.
I am glad they are making more presentable to anyone with higher quality and more styled visuals. It will certainly look more appealing to anyone checking out the mode for the first time.

Why people are surprised or angry it's not going to be that is beyond me.

I get that people want it to be something else, but it's incredibly easy to find a way to play the original MoR on stuff like cellphones nowadays. That's what the mode is, that's what it always was and what it's going to be.
Here's the thing: it's fucking FUN and addictive. No, it isn't some sort of Adam Ryland mode, but honestly, that could be modded easily. Carl's MotW mod is already pretty close, at least as a stat/promotion tracking tool.
MotR was loads of fun and being able to do it with a completely custom roster is amazing.

The whole mode was delayed by people's request to allow editing of wrestlers used in the mode. So it's great that they listen, which is why I am not bother with the delay of the mode at all.
That's a big time plus to be able to edit the tons of wrestlers you could fill the mode with.

And we only had it on a mobile game, in Japanese, with default rosters, and no priorities before. Adding this mode to FPWW is enough. Anything else, is just icing on the cake. Sure, it's a nearly 20 year old mode (makes me feel old realizing that). But that doesn't make it any less awesome. This is what I've been waiting for since I played the original Final Fire Pro on a GBA emulator back in the day and had to scour through half-assed translation FAQs to understand 10% of it. And still loved it.
