It was brought up in another thread so I figured let’s discuss it in a dedicated one instead.
What are your thoughts, parameters or preferences when it comes to the height of your EDITs?
I try to keep a general rule of
Female < 5’5 Small 5’5 - 5’9 Medium 5’10 - 6’2 Large 6’3 - 6’8 Giant > 6’8

My scale's a few inches up from yours, and I don't generally have a rubric for Female sized edits, past that it's a default for most women I make, unless they are exceptionally tall, have hossy qualities or are uber athletes. Also, my scale has some flex space in it, since height is tied to weight class, and there are times it makes more sense to mess with the size percents to even things out.
Small: Up to 5'11 or so Medium: 5'11-6'3 Large: 6'4-6'8 Giant: 6'9 and up

Mine is scaled up slightly more. with some wiggle room based on if I want someone to visually look taller/shorter:
Small: 5'9 and below Medium: 5'10-6'5 Large: 6'5-6'9 Giant: 6'10 and up

This is what I use. I'm 6'3" and I make myself a medium and I know people who are taller than me who definitely don't qualify as giants so they would be large.

Mine is pretty close to Worm's except that I'll use the female size for all female edits under 5'8" and 160 lbs and I typically start my L-sized edits at 6'4"
There is some deviation here and there but this is typically how I've done things

I have a more simplified approach and use a basic formula:
Giant=self explanatory
Randy Orton/Hulk Hogan/Lesnar/Undertaker=large
Bret Hart/Sting/Michaels/Jericho=medium
Aj Styles/Daniel Bryan/cruiserweight=small
So basically anyone on or a approximately around each of the following wrestlers size, will be cateragized as such.

You can also use the female size for a bit more granularity. Rey fits better into female than Small. As would Amazing Red, and Marko Stunt.

I really liked this post from the other thread: For example, (according to Wikipedia) Randy Orton is 6'5'' and Brock Lesnar is 6'3'', and we can record this data when creating edits. However, due to a combination of Brock's height, width, muscle mass, presence and intimidation, Brock could be listed as 'large' or 'giant' and Randy could be listed as 'normal' despite Brock being 2 inches shorter. Another one is WCW/NWO Revenge fictional character Hawk Hana (a sumo wrestler). He was listed as 6'2'' but in the game he was taller and bigger than pretty much everyone else. I'm not sure which real wrestler he was based on, or maybe THQ recorded his height stat incorrectly, but you got the impression his overall his 'appearance' was supposed to be huge, despite how tall he actually was. This is pretty much exactly how I see things. Orton is taller than Brock but Brock's horizontal dimension (at least for his chest) is the size of the laptop I'm typing this on. Height is just one factor for deserving large size and it's kind of a sliding scale that works with weight and two other factors. Someone like El Gigante was soooo tall that it didn't matter he was also so thin. But I'd also understand that some people may not want him "Giant" size due to his weight. But if he had been like 2 inches shorter but 50 pounds heavier, he definitely would deserve Giant size without a doubt. Yokozuna was relatively short but there's no question in my mind that his bulk justifies Giant size in addition to the two key factors of a) wrestling style and b) the way he was booked. A tubby or tall jobber may be just as big as Yokozuna (or Earthquake) but be booked to get lifted up by a cruiserweight and so they don't really deserve Giant size to me. Wrestling style plus booking are two other factors to throw into the equation along with weight. Modern Undertaker (Attitude era onward) always seems like a Large size wrestler to me in FPW rather than Giant because he didn't quite have the bulk to be Giant even though he was treated like an immovable monster early in his career. I'd be more likely to give early Undertaker "Giant" status then later Undertaker. Kane was bulkier than Undertaker but I never would feel right giving him Giant status. Both of those guys could definitely deserve "Quick Return" though for accuracy to compensate for lack of Giant. As for the Orton vs. Brock issue, I think it makes sense that the slightly taller Orton would be Medium and Brock would be Large. Look at it this way: If you were to see Randy Orton in a dark alley, he'd probably poop in your bag. If you were to see Brock Lesnar in a dark alley, you'd poop in your own bag. "Give a man a poop, he cleans his bag for a day. Teach a man to poop, he poops for a lifetime." That's my flawless rationale for why Brock Lesnar should get "Large" size and Orton should get "Medium." & 💩 u With so many people having their own edits and creating their own height/appearance system (< 6'0'' =small, 6'1'' - 6'4'' = normal etc) having a standardised rule is tough, but turning to Spike for a definitive answer doesn't help at all (not much surprise there!). Completely agreed. First off, Okada's default in the DLC looks really silly to me. Like too thin and tall. I'm not a master at designing edit appearances, especially for RL wrestlers (that's why I have Dakota as my tag-team edit partner!) but some of the NJPW defaults look like FUN HOUSE MIRRORS to me in regards to appearances.

We have yet to broach the sensitive topic of large, fancy hats. Who here is with me in lobbying Spike to create the Tropicana fruit hat? 🍍 If it would be high enough, that could give an edit "Giant" status and they'd look good and be refreshed too! Okite Yaberry!

In any case, it'd not work well for the flying juniors.

There's not a significant visual height difference between F and S, anyway. What little visual difference there seems to have more to do with how the limbs hang on the body.

I've gone through and edited most of the wrestlers I've downloaded on PS4 and I personally use Okada as by Large barometer. While I understand Geese feelings about the default Okada I believe it works. At 6'3 Okada is the tallest person in New Japan. And he generally towers over his opponents as most his opponents are 6'1 and under. U just think it works visually.

Yeah basically the entire NJPW cast falls into the 'Small' category when you view them across the entire universe of wrestlers (sans a handful), but you can easily move them around to fill out styles better or give those absolute visual cues among themselves.
I tend to also flub around based on style. For someone who has 6'5" and up as Large, for example, sets Sheamus as Medium but Orton as Large and their actual styles work closer to the opposite.
