I did some experimenting last night and absolutely figured out a good balance. My Okada and Omega edits put on arguably the best match I've ever seen in Fire Pro. There were a few keys.
Most obviously, adjusting the parameters. I did it as follows.
For Okada and Omega, who are my two highest-ranking edits point wise, I gave them all 1s in offense, and all 10s in defense except MMA defense which I kept at 1.
I then looked at their move set and identified the parameters for their finisher/signature moves. I bumped all of these to a 2.
Since Okada is staying at the top of my roster points wise, this left him at 220. I am working off that scale moving down, and Omega is supposed to be 2 points less than Okada. I lowered Omega's 10s in defense until he was at 218. He had like 4-5 9s now. This addressed the biggest issue I've had with Fire Pro, which is the S and M damage part of the match only lasting ~5 minutes. Now, they didn't starting hitting L damage moves until the 20 minute mark, which is precisely how an NJPW match goes.
The next key is tweaking ref settings to make sure there aren't too many/too few 2.9 counts. I am going to work on that tonight but I think I am really close to a good balance.
