My game has always listed move to pinfall unless the pin came as a counter or was the move in the grapple like a school boy pin or other roll up pin. Not sure what you're expecting me to do after reading that post. If it comes down to taking screenshots I will. Sorry I can see how my comment can unnecessary. And I do believe you. You're issue seemed to be fairly unique though I see at least one other is having the same experience.

I've just played an 8 man normal battle royal (elimination) to get different finishes and look, 5 out of 7 finishes were pins! Do me a favor: tell me what you think happened in that match (Brody beat Lesnar with a piledriver when it was only those two left) And if it's some quirk like "multi man matches only show one move", that sucks as Returns shows it all as you'd expect

Plus if you look at the above why is Powerbomb listed when it was followed by a pin? And yet.. There are five finishes that were Pins
So is the Powerbomb special, or different pins matter or what? (isnt the default Powerbomb including a pin? Which would prove its only showing one move!)
The above is not consistent, OR it is consistent but only shows one move.

It's been awhile since I ran a battle Royal so I'm gonna test to see what it says.
It only says powerbomb because the pin is part of the move and so the so the information stored is the name of the move that won which is powerbomb. Samething happens with german suplex.

Battle Royales only show the winning move because everything is on one line, in a restricted space. If Returns shows both moves for that mode great, but that's not the same as the results screen for standard matches. And it's definitely not something to focus on as a weakness of one game when compared to another. For example, compare the overall presentation of Returns vs World.
Try testing with other match types and see what you get; match types where the results screen is designed to show multiple lines.

I can confirm that it is only one move in Battle Royale because of the one line. Other modes that have a single fall show the set up to a pin if there was one.

In fact, Returns does not show all the move information during Battle Royales; it only shows the winning move as well. So, I'm not exactly sure which version of Returns you're testing against. youtu.be/RFpCG2BDFm4?t=624If you're interested in bashing World's presentation and comparing it to Returns, I'm all for it though!

This thread has gone places.
Battle Royals have always been the same across all titles that has in the mode in the series.

It feels like there's a lot of unnecessary amount of condescending tone and hostility from the OP for no reason at all.

It's because the powerbomb is a pinning move - so in battle royal mode, it will show the move name. Same with a German Suplex Hold, or a Michinoku Driver II, and so on. In a normal match, some of these will show, say, Powerbomb -> Double Leg Hook Fall.

No way.
Definitely a conspiracy. Or the Mandela effect. IT WAS NEVER LIKE THIS UNTIL IT WAS ALWAYS LIKE THIS

From what I've gathered google translating japanese results, only listing the type of pin or hold that caused the match to end is common practice there (I'm just guessing that something like "Shrimp Consolidation" is a type of pin here).

Unless it's a pinning reversal from someone else's move, a standing moonsault or shooting star press, or a complex pinning move (La Magistral, Gedo Clutch, Mi Amor de Mi Novia, etc.), the game always lists the move that led to a pinfall for me. 🤷 Just to help with the data, mine is like this too. I almost always see the move names. If you are on the PC, maybe there is an issue with your mods?
